batman(1989) US version vs. UK version - Blu-ray Forum

Has anyone compared the picture quality between the two. The official review on here gives the UK one from last year a picture grade of 4.5, then it gives the recently released 20th ann. US edition a picture grade of 3.5 - is there really that big of a difference between the two? You wouldnt think theyd give a newly released version an inferior picture than one that came out before it.

As far as I know the Anthology/Digibook version is pretty much the same transfer as the UK version, not sure why the scores are different.

I'm hoping that's the case because I really want to buy it. Hopefully theres someone whos compared the two that can comment on it.

The UK version is exactly the same as the US release right down to FBI copyrights showing up after the film is over. Even the Australian release is also the exact same disc as the US & UK release, all three share the same langauge tracks and subtitles options.

The UK and Aussie versions came out first then the US but the discs all the same. All Warner did was alter the cover art to add the appropriate ratings certificates.

Actually steve dave, that first link you posted is to the US box set review. And when I look through the reviews, the UK review is no longer on there. Oh well, I'll take your guys' word for it that they're the same picture quality - thanks for the replies.

The discs are the same. The only real difference is the UK version isn't a digibook.
