I have been trying to decide weather to buy the most up to date DVD version of a movie or wait and wait for maybe there being a release of the movie. A lot of the movies I want to buy where made in the 90's so I am unsure if they will ever even get a blu-ray release but I also want to help not put me in a situation to where I would have to double dip.
What would you do, buy the movie on DVD if it is not on blu-ray yet or wait and wait for a blu-ray release? Paul |

I would wait for the Blu-ray version. The studios seem to have been releasing a lot more titles from their recent libraries, so if the stuff you're waiting on are halfway popular films, I think there's a fair chance they'll be out soon if you're patient.

I would wait. Not sure if you are old enough to remember the vhs to dvd conversion, but many of the catalogue movies took quite some time to come out but eventually did. I truly believe this will be true of blu as well, and your patience will pay off with better pq and aq that the blu will provide over the upscaled dvd.

I guess it depends on what's being released. For instance, Joe Bonamassa's new live dvd Live From The Royal Albert Hall is only getting a dvd release. There might be a blu ray release, or there might not in the future. So you can bet your butt that I'm going to buy the dvd.
Oh, and for what it's worth, my marketing job for the day ![]() |

I personally enjoy my home entertainment, so I still buy old DVD's, especially more obscure titles and foreign films, which I generally prefer over all the over hyped Hollywood crap. DVD's are pretty cheap if you shop around, especially online. Lastly, I saw your gallery photos. Man, I thought I was the only one who liked 'The Oh in Ohio'. Funny movie. Have you seen 'The House of Yes'? |

My wife and I were walking into Target the other night and she made the comment that I blew right by a dvd endcap without even a glance. I'd say it's Blu all the way for me. There are more and more catalog titles released every month so it's just a matter of time when the movies you're looking for will be available.
