Pointless. This is the Canadian release which is subpar compared to the US release and is going to be replaced by the Ultimate Edition coming out next week.

i hate it when studios try to milk these things for all their worth. luckily for me i hated this movie and so wont have to waste any of my money on it

It just sucks for us because Alliance is a crap studio that hasn't done anything right and so we end up getting stuck double dipping EVERY title they release. You pay the price of either getting it now from Alliance or waiting for the proper release. That is why I never picked up Se7en, Freddy Vs Jason, Running Scared and Sin City.

I am waiting for the proper release from the American Studios. It is nice to have some videos before other people but when it comes to good movies or interesting movies, they should be only done properly or not at all.

The Ultimate Edition is only available as an US Import. The August 04/2009 Release is just another Re-Release of the Alliance version.

Totally agree with you. Double and Triple dipping is where the studio make their extra money. All the rights have already been paid.

cant speak for the others, but i took a chance and picked up se7en and the transfer is excellent (as far a pq goes) i own the collectors ed dvd and dont feel anything was missing with the OAR to the 1:85 blu0ray release. (running scared i think i'm gonna wait for the German one, but i've bought a few Alliance titles and have no complaints here, they have cheap prices bcuz they do bare bones releases and i couldnt care less for the special features n stuff so im happy with their work.

no sense in all this ultimate version crap unless your like the biggest fan of he movie ever! dont know why ppl waste their money of these releases ultimate releases of 300, sin city (watchmen next year) just to get extra crap. i can understand upgrading if they improve pq or aq like fifth element and superman returns but not otherwise. i personally have only watched special features in like 3 or 4 movies EVER out of the thousands of dvds/ blus i've rented/ bought. just give me the regular release of the movie and i'm happy

I have no problem if the studio wants to release 8 versions of a movie but they should all be released on the same day so that everyone can choose which version they want.
