Are Any Of These Films Viable For A Blu-ray Release - Blu-ray Forum

I'm unfamiliar with what allows a Film / TV Show to be released on Blu-ray but here's a list of some of my favourite films and I'm hoping someone can tell me if they could in the future be released on Blu-ray

A Shot In The Dark
The Return Of The Pink Panther
The Pink Panther Strikes Again
Revenge Of The Pink Panther
Trail Of The Pink Panther
Curse Of The Pink Panther
Son Of The Pink Panther
The Great Race
All the Hammer Films
Airplane! / Airplane II : The Sequel
The Naked Gun Trilogy
What A Carve Up
Murder By Death
The Runaway Bus
The Wicker Man ( THE REAL WICKER MAN, NOT THAT CAGE CR*P )

yeah they will eventually be realeased on bd when it bd keeps on growing.

There isn't anything preventing a studio from allowing a movie to be released on Blu-ray, so in all likelihood, those will all be released on BD in the future...... "WHEN" is always the big question though.... there is often no rhyme or reason, with the exception of a new T.V. Spin-off, sequel/prequel, or remake being planned.

The vast majority probably will. All the old pink panthers will probably be released in a set at somepoint

I held off on buying The Pink Panther because I'm anticipating a release similar to the dvd set back in '05. I thought Pink Panther looked great on blu btw!

Same goes for The Sergio Leone Anthology.

To the list, I say yes, eventually.

To the first question, a film and TV show can go on Blu if it was shot on film and the film is still around. If it was shot on tape (not HD tape) or only tape masters exist, forget it.
