Default My HT setup with pics. Where should my sub placement be??

Ok well this is gonna suck to do from my phone since everytime I leave a browser and go to photobucket to get the URL everything erases when I come back . So here is my room and as you can see everything is at an angle but it is hard to more things without getting cluttered. Oh and bear with me I can't post all the pics at once cuz I can't leave this browser so I'll just Edit them in one at a time. Should be good to go in about 10 minutes lol

behind the couch

on the couch

facing the couch from tv

another behind the couch room shot
http://emob107.photobucket.com/album...7/533b670c.jpg

to the left , sitting on couch. And my original option to put a sub is where the table is between the couch and chair
http://emob107.photobucket.com/album...7/e180d8ec.jpg

To the right of the couch not to much room over there between the tower and the chair
http://emob107.photobucket.com/album...7/8baf79be.jpg

last but not least. Behind the couch. Another possible sub placement possibility if I end up getting some speaker stands. And the boxes will be out soon and as far as the golf clubs. I'm just that lazy

This is what I got when I clicked on the second link. The way you are sitting on the couch makes you real hot. I never knew M stands for Megan.

Please fix your link or I will have a heart attack.

As far as the first picture is concerned, you may have to rearrange the room and move the TV away from the corner and put it against the straight wall. There will be more room for your speakers and future subwoofers and they will sound better.

Ok I have one more... This is behind the tv , which is currently where I have my Polk psw 10. The box is about 14x14x15 so worst case scenario I believe there would be plenty room back there for the hdsub-12 especially if i made a 1 foot riser or so to get it up off the ground and away from all the clutter

lol that was a test link mobile photobucket only gives you 2 URL options ( and obviously IMG is not one of them. So sorry for the links ) so I tried each one out andfound the first to be more usefull but not as exciting as #2

moving things around or moving the setup over to the left( if your sitting on the couch ) could work , the only reason I had it angled in the corner is cuz hats where my directv and dsl come into the house.

So hopefully all the pics are working now and you don't have a heart attack cuz I still need your advice especially since my 2 posts in this thread took me about 30 minutes to do

If you rearrange the room, you can put the subwoofer in the corner where the TV is. Subwoofers use the walls and increase their output. The port of this sub is in the back. Keep the back of the sub about a foot away from the wall.

I'll post up pics as soon as I either get my computer back or get on someone elses. Since there uploaded to photo bucket now. I just want to put them up as images instead of links but the pb app won't let you

So did you see my " issue" over in the AA thread? What the heck am I supposed to with this now? I'm assuming mixing a 15 and 12 probably won't sound to good? And being the wrong colors makes it even worse

Interesting read. But still kind of nothing more than bd says in the bass management thread. Just buy a db meter and crawl

Ok I know this isn't the best plan, but until ican re arrange things in my house and decide what to do about the 15 I just won that I still don't know what I'm gonna do with.... But how's this sound

If I put the 12 behind my tv on a 12" riser ( post 3 link ) and then put the 15 to the left of my couch were the square table is? ( post 1 , link#5 )

Subwoofer Crawl technique is covered toward the end of A Guide to Subwoofers (Part II): Standing Waves & Room Modes. There is link there to a video from Axiom Audio and an explanation of a more scientific approach to Subwoofer Crawl technique.

All I can say, is place them where they sound the best to your ears. The best set-ups are either one up front and one in the back on opposite sides or in the middle of the room, on the far laft and far right. Everybody's rooms have certain limitations. Use the techniques (sub crawl) from our BD to the best of your ability and find what sounds best.....and get an SPL meter, it will help to dial in both subs.

I responded to your problem about mixing two different color 12" and 15" subs in the AA thread.

If you put the 15" too close to your sofa, it may overpower the other subwoofer and may also overpower your front speakers. It would be best to follow these diagrams as closely as possible. Yuo definitely need to rearrange the room.
