Default Titles that DO have a "resume" feature?

since my limited experience with blu ray isn't revealing too many discs that have the resume playback feature, out of curiosity can anyone tell me some titles that do have the resume playback incorporated into them? would it be correct to say that the newer the blu ray, the less likely to have resume playback. thanks.

It depends on the studio like for instance this anime company called Funimation they never use the bookmark feature so it defaults to the resume feature instead including their newest releases.

Ones encoded with Java don't have resume play everything else does.

I wish studios would do what A Bugs Life did which was have an automatic bookmarking feature that would ask when you start if you would like to resume from the previous point. Also, the SeasonPlay on LOST friggin rocks!

I really like this type of feature and really wish all studios would support it. I'd prefer the bookmark option rather than just automatically resuming where you left off when starting again.

Fortunately Prison Break Seasons 1 & 3 both support resume play. It'd really be a pain in the arse if they didn't, what with how long they are.

The UK release of Monsters Inc does the same, even has a progress bar show far through the last showing got.

From all the 'resume not available on Java menu dics' comments does this mean Disney do their menus some other way??

Most older WB titles without IME features resume. The new rerelease of Superman Returns has the resume feature as well.

Any title that does not have BD-J enhancements will resume play. That even includes BDs produced now and in the future.

BD-J programmers are now implementing an auto bookmark feature on selected BD-J enhanced titles to circumvent the resume issue.

There are some studios/distributors who do not support the self bookmarking feature because this is optional.

The auto-boommark code is also optional and unless the BDA adds it to the Blu-ray Disc required specs, its going to remain optional. The same goes for the self bookmarking feature.

because when you stop the movie and then hit "play," it doesn't resume.

just kidding.

good question. the back of the disc case, unlike the back of the player itself, doesn't mention java that i've been able to find.

Well if it has the BD-Live that's 1 way to tell or you can tell by just looking at the extras and if it has an interactive game on it, or even when you load up the disc and you have to wait a few seconds(or minutes) while it does a loading process.

I wished all tv show box sets had "season play" like the Lost Blu-Rays do. I love that feature! I'm always forgetting what disc I'm on, but with "season play" I don't have to worry about it.
