Default Mini Marquee, Version #2 - by Brettallica

The following is a newer version of my Blu-ray Mini Marquee I made a while back, featuring several enhancements to the one seen here.

While it looks very similar from a finished product standpoint, there were some significantly different build techniques. I'm not going to bore you with every single one of those details, but here are a few:
  • More LEDs (two instead of four) behind the front lens, for a more even blue light emanation from behind the text;
  • Flat head 5mm LEDs used behind the front lens, for a wider spreading of the light;
  • Flat head 5mm LEDs used for the upward-projecting LEDs illuminating the front of the movie case;
  • Smaller LEDs (3mm, rounded head) used for the upright piece lighting up the top of the movie case;
  • Wider resting "seat" cut out of the base, to account for the thickness of a DVD case
If you're wondering why there is extra room at the top of the upright piece while a Blu-ray rests in the Mini Marquee, it is to account for the extra height of a DVD case. See the second picture in the above set of images to see what I mean.

This Blu-ray Mini Marquee was made for Blu-ray.com forum member silversnake. By all accounts, he is one happy dude. He's even posted pictures in his home theater gallery showing how it looks in his setup.
