Default US BD movies with Korean subtitles?

Hi All,

I was curious why would Ghost Rider have Korean and subtitles, but not english?

Also, are there any other US releases with Korean or Japanese subtitles?

On the Back it says that ghost rider has engilsh subtitles

Kind of blurry, but it is the first one the top of the subtitles list.

It seems like the only studio with Korean Japanese subtitles are columbia movies, but not all of them.

Strange. I'll check again tonight, but I could swear there were no english subtitles to choose. Only spanish and korean.

I don't have Ghost Rider but I have not run into a single BD (watched maybe 100 so far) without English subtitles. Isn't it mandatory now?

There wouldn't be any with Japanese subtitles in US BDs. The studios want to sell the BDs with higher prices in Japan, and Japan and US are in the same region, so the only way they can prevent the Japanese mass from importing BDs from US is by not having Japanese subtitles. (This is my speculation.)

enjoy

Now that I think about it, this might be a bug in the menu. I think I saw this once as well, in Casino Royale. For whatever reason you can't scroll up on the list of subtitles in the main menu. (For Casino Royale, it looks like the only available subtitle is in Thai!) Start the movie and press the "subtitle selection" button on your remote (triangle and then use arrows to select the one that looks like "(...)" if you have a PS3). That way you can toggle between all subtitle options.

hope this helps

Correct

Japanese home video prices were set before the revaluing of the yen (went from like 220-$1 to about 80). So the prices are the same buying power as say $29.99. But yes to avoid reverse importation. Korea and the rest of R3 are matched to the US $
