Brilliant, I was hoping we weren't going to get fleeced as it was announced in the US ages ago.

But highly entertaining bs. If you don't like it, just don't post, there's no need to troll the thread. :S

It would be interesting to know what we're getting on this release, if it's going to be comparable to the US release or not.

I just realized that Paramount holds the U.S distribution rights. Was always under the impression that it was a FOX release. Anyways, will pick up the FOX release as it's priced lower and will feature DTS-HD MA.

The question is: Will the UK have the same supplements as the Paramount BR. And if so will it be a 2 BR Edition, or will FOX try to press all on one BR.

I might still go for the US one if it's region free. Too much coming out on 2nd November too.

The US release is from Paramount so it should be region free.

Bad luck, both this and Gladiator are locked to Region A.

United Kingdom Something very strange about Braveheart BBFC decission

This was submitted in 1995
http://bbfc.co.uk/website/Classified...7?OpenDocument

And it was cut

but here is a new submission of the movie from 1997
http://bbfc.co.uk/website/Classified...F?OpenDocument

And it was passed with no cuts

And here is another one from 2008
http://bbfc.co.uk/website/Classified...4?OpenDocument

Also no cuts but the runningtime is 170 min while the other are 179 min i guess the one with 170 min is without credits

So does that mean the Blu ray will be uncut

The submission from 1997 is for an Audio Descriptive version, where a voice narrates the action, so that probably accounts for the few minutes difference in running time. Since the theatrical version at 24 frames per second is 177 minutes, the PAL version at 25 fps would be 170 minutes, and the most recent submission is from 2008 for the Gibson commentary, which is listed at 170 minutes (i.e. a PAL DVD). For Blu-ray, there is no PAL speed-up for HD material, so the UK Blu-ray (which has not yet, and may not need to be, reclassified by the BBFC) should run 177 minutes. The original cut requested to gain a '15' was two seconds in length, so even the cut version would be 177 minutes long, but the UK has become much more liberal since 1995, especially with the '15' certificate, so I would expect to see it released uncut on Blu-ray at '15'.

i hope you are right. They also made Angels and demons uncut for the blu ray and DVD. but in the cinemas it was cut. So i really hope you are right. When do you think we will know for sure if it will be uncut like the US?

I also believe Spiderman 2 is uncut on Blu ray while when it was released in 2003-2004 it was cut for a headbutt
