Default Sub Test

Ok guys, I’m looking to buy a blu-ray today. I don’t own any as I rent all of mine. I need a blu-ray that has really good LFE in it so I can use it to really test my subs out. Any suggesting?

The Master List of DVD, HD-DVD & Blu-ray Movies with BASS Thread

(If the link doesn't work, just Google master list movies with bass.)

erict, if you are still unsure after reviewing the link, may I suggest either U-571 or Transformers. You can't go wrong with either of these, they will push your eD with the really low lows!

Click on the link in post #2 and you'll find dozens of 'em listed there. If you scroll down the list, you'll even find chapter - and, in some cases, time and Hz - listings.

I am going to buy one (maybe two) today at lunch. I have it down to these three.

Cloverfield
U-571
Transformers

U-571 (the wife doesn't like military moves, but I do)
Cloverfield (the wife might like this one)

"Cloverfield" is a surprisingly decent flick, and it has a number of scenes with stupid amounts of LFE , but if your wife doesn't like - or can't stomach - the "shaky cam" footage, she won't enjoy the movie.

It's a personal thing. When my wife and I watched the movie on our 51" RPTV, she found the shaky-cam thing a bit irritating, but she watched the whole movie and thought it was alright. I didn't mind the shaky-cam.

I've watched the movie again on my 100" screen and it still doesn't bother me. My buddy watched about five minutes and asked me to put on another movie because it annoyed him so much.

And then, of course, there are those reports of people in cinemas who became physically ill because of it.

But do rent "Cloverfield" some time. Even if you don't actually watch it, there are some pretty cool scenes and some pretty awesome LFE to check out.

Good choices. I'd like to also mention Iron Man and The Dark Knight. Both have some really great subwoofer action.

+1 to "Iron Man". It's got some great LFE and, unlike "U-571" and "Transformers", it's actually a good movie!

You had to throw two more in the mix Out of the three below what would be the best overall demo.

Transformers
Dark Knight
U-571
