Default Cars?

I see that Amazon has a pre-order for "Cars" up. It is a Disney release and it comes out on November 10th; same day as Monster's Inc. and Up!. Is this the Pixar Cars (a new re-release perhaps) or something different.

I see that. Well if it is a re-release of Cars w/ a DVD, hopefully it will have a digital copy as well. Hope they post a cover art soon.

since it's a 2 disc set the 2nd disc is the dvd so most likely no digital copy unless they do it like Wall-E 2 disc set and a 3 disc set

Oh snap! They're gonna put 2 exclusive die-casts in there and make me buy it again. Damn you Disney!

The 3rd disk has already been listed as the DVD copy, which, if you recall, is a marketing concept that came about a year or two after the original release...
Seems now that they think it caught on, they didn't want a double-dip to be left out.

I'm surprised this is getting a re-release so quick. When is Cars 2 slated to come out?

June 24, 2011.

It seems weird though because The Bear and The Bow is dated for the same year (December 25, 2011). Two Pixar films in one year?

Also I'm going to guess that Pixar might release Toy Story 1 and 2 on BD after TS3 is released on BD. Or perhaps in a boxset? This is a longshot though, but one can hope!

The two Pixar films is new. Cars 2 is aimed for boys while The Bear and the Bow is aimed for girls. It's a marketing strategy, I guess.

I'm sure they will release them in a boxset, if I do say so myself but I think Disney likes boxsets. It brings in more money. But they will have to release a Pixar film on Bluray for the release of Toy Story 3. But which will it be Finding Nemo or The Incredibles? My money is on The Incredibles because I think they are saving Finding Nemo for something special. Seeing as Finding Nemo is the number one selling Video/DVD in America, I think they may wait a while.

and on topic:

wont be double dipping. basically the same thing but with "collector" cars. i doubt these will have any value like the blu mcqueen did. unless cars goes in a vault then maybe 10 yrs later but i doubt it

Funny... If it did come out with DTS-MA ... I would almost be tempted to buy it over again.

It looks and sounds so ridiculously good now though. It's the first thing that comes to mind if I want to show people what my HT is capable of.

No double dip for me here, thanx.

BTW I don't see why on earth Disney would replace the PCM track with a DTS-HD MA track just to please DTS Fanboys.
Makes no sense at all, unless they were thinking about adding more supplements. In that case the extra space that the PCM track takes might be needed. But if the disc is going to be identical, then I don't see any single reason to replace the EXCELLENT PCM tracks in Cars and Ratatouille.
