Didn't see a thread for this...just watched it last night after getting it in the latest Amazon B2G1 and absolutely loved it. Very cool movie.

It also looked great for a movie shot so much in the dark. Audio was strong too, good use of surround sound.

Anyone else had a chance to check this one out?

Yes, I checked it out in June via Netflix. A good sci-fi movie with a European twist. I was waiting until it came down in price. Somewhere around $15.

Price hasn't dropped for a long time. I've heard you have to be a little patient in the beginning.

Well I must say that this is the worst movie that I have seen in 2009

. I would strongly advise to rent it before spending your hard earned money on it.

Without spoilers, can you explain why you didn't like it? OP loved it. Only because I have interest in buying it too. Actually bidding on it right now.

It must be noted that Magnolia Pictures did not include the original French track on their Blu-ray release. Instead, they included an English dub. As far a I am concerned, this is very, very disappointing.

This is one of the main reasons for my disappointment as I hate to watch dubbed movies. The movie is really dark, and it is a "disjointed" effort. The camera follows the characters in an "earthshaking" manner. There are sudden flashes of light and noises in the darkness(too dark, probably in a futile attempt to hide that it is a cheaply made movie)accomplishing a dizzying effect on the viewer. I was really hyped about it, because the story appeared to be something I would enjoy. Not the case here...just a cheap, badly acted/directed rip off of previous sci fi movies(Aliens, Cube comes to mind). Some might critics enjoy the gimmicky camera angles and tone set by the director...I watch most movies for the fun and immersion factors and did not find them here. The PQ is no big deal due to the absence of color in the film, but I remember that the audio was ok...but too much heavy breathing

by the main character as he wonders through the corridors.

The dubbing was actually pretty damn good for a movie, but it is an odd movie and I was always expecting something big to happen, which never did.

But all of my customers tell me its horrid. So yeah.

given I never heard of the movie before (actually started reading about it once i saw the thread) the story sounds interesting. However, the dubbing is my problem with the film, I would much rather go with a subtitle over it. (Got to admit I have a few dubbed films in my collection) I will try to check it out first (just to give it a chance) by renting first.

I saw a copy went unsold for $9.99 with $3 s&h. If only Id been looking at that time.

At least watch it and decide for yourself. It is a love it or hate it movie, but if you're open minded and like science fiction, I think this movie is terrific. It's not really slow-paced, has a great story if you can figure it out, and good characters. Very cool atmosphere, too.

Since there is nearly zero dialog of any significance, this is a nonissue. The real issue is that the movie never really gels.

All my customers told me that In Bruges was horrid, and we had to exchange JCVD an awful lot too. They're some of my fave movies of last year. Haven't heard to much their thoughts about The Wrestler, though one lady said she couldn't believe she paid to see such a waste of time.
