Default Best and Worst of Summer 2009

So the summer its coming to end for all the summer blockbusters. What is everyones favorite movies of the summer and was there something you were looking forward to seeing and it just crashed and burned? For me the summer highlights were Star Trek, The Hangover and District 9. As far as let downs go Wolverine and Terminator Salvation were the let downs for me.

Terminator Salvation was the best of the summer (and year) for me.

Edit: Forgot my "worst"

Wolverine was the "worst" of the summer for me probably, but I still loved it.

I know I am in the minority, but it is only my opinion. My favorite so far is Taken and I did not like Terminator, G.I. Joe, Transformers, or Wolverine. As far as Megan Fox goes, if I want to look at candy, I'll watch a porn. It's far more gratifying...

From what I've seen this summer-

Best:
1. Inglorious Basterds
2. District 9
3. Public Enemies
4. (500) Days of Summer
5. Drag Me to Hell
These movies were easily my top movies of the year.

Worst (but still both good movies):
1. Bruno
2. Wolverine

The rest are somewhere in the middle.

Of the ones I've seen

Best:
Up
Star Trek
District 9

Worst:

Terminator Salvation: didnt hate it but didnt love it

I thought overall this summer was kind of weak for movies, maybe if star trek would have come out in july i may have enjoyed the summer movie selections more. Seems like last summer i was at the theater every week. I skipped Transformers and Wolverine because i they got really bad reviews so i will wait til they come on dvd

Great: UP (so far my favorite movie I've seen for 2009)

Good: Terminator 4 (somewhat still disappointing), and Wolverine

Overrated: Transformers 2, and GI Joe

Want to see: Drag me to Hell, 2012....

Great: None so far, though I'm awaiting to see Up (it comes out next Thursday where I live).

Very Good: Angels and Demons, Watchmen

Good: Transformers 2, Terminator Salvation

Average: Monsters vs Aliens

Have yet to see, but plan on renting: Star Trek, Drag Me To Hell, Public Enemies

Hopefully will see soon: Inglorious Basterds, Up, Harry Potter 6.

Have no interest in sieng: G I Joe, Wolverine (maybe as a rental if there is absolutely nothing else), District 9, The Hangover

1. District 9
2. Inglorious Basterds
3. Up
4. Drag me to Hell
5. Public Enemies
6. Terminator Salvation
7. The Hangover
8. Star Trek
9. Funny People
10. Wolverine
In that order!

The next two don't even deserve a number.
G.I Joe and Transformers 2.
Transformers 2 was "puke-all-over-my-own-dick" bad. I didn't think the movie could get any worse and then Michael Bay decided to give a Bad Boys II poster a cameo. Any somehow things still went downhill from there. BARF!

Overall I think its been a pretty good summer though. I was able to find something enjoyable in the 10 listed movies above. Money well spent

I saw...

Wolverine (bootleg)
Star Trek
Terminator Salvation
The Hangover
Bruno
(500) Days Of Summer
District 9
Inglourious Basterds

Favourite Three:
Inglourious Basterds
District 9
(500) Days Of Summer

Least Favourite Three:
Wolverine
Terminator Salvation
Bruno

Sleepers of the summer:
The Hangover
District 9

Even though it probably shouldn't have, on paper the second half of summer and especially August has kicked the rest of the summers ass.
