Default Looking for suggestions on a budget 7.1 HDMI receiver

Ok, I have done the reading, asked the important question about decoding and 7.1, I feel I understand that well enough now to try and find a decent receiver. I am looking for hdmi 1.3, 7.1 channel receiver to play my trueHD and DTS-HD from my Xonar HDAV 1.3 slim.

I am on a limited budget now bc I am moving, I am looking to spend $200-$275, am definitely willing to buy on ebay or other website, and am firmly set in my price range! I welcome any and all suggestions, or reviews of products owned by other members!

I am currently looking at a Harmon Kardon AVR 247 refurbished for $199 shipped, and was wondering if that would be worth it?

I will look into those, but I have personally never been a big fan of sony products, I have always seemed to be able to find better sound quality in yamaha and harmon kardon products

That is true, definitely can't argue that point, lol. I have been looking around and I think I will be able to find myself a nice refurbished harmon kardon that fits my needs, probably the AVR 254
