Default HTiB on a very strict budget?

Right now I'm using this which is obviously a bit lacking, as it doesn't decode any HD sound, and I really feel it's time to upgrade. However, due to budget restrictions, I'm considering a HTiB. I have been looking at this Yahama setup. Is this decent, or is there another recommendation anyone has within my price range of about $500? Thanks!

For your price range you can do much better than that HTIB...
http://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-RX-V663...1475017&sr=8-1

and
http://www.amazon.com/Polk-Audio-Cha...1475074&sr=1-7

Just two very popular example of what you can get...

The speakers you can get cheaper from different sites.
Good luck.

I hear nothing but good things on these Energy speakers, I'd pick them over the Polk's

You're right, they are definitely better. But they don't come with a sub.
Check out the Sub-woofer section for recos on Acoustic Audio subs(you should get a decent one for bout $150).But that might shoot up your budget, coz a decent receiver would at least cost about $200.

So, you can get the polks, and get a decent receiver for $300(pioneer 819 maybe? http://www.jr.com/pioneer/pe/PIO_VSX819HK/ )

Happy hunting

PS: I'm actually in the same boat, still fighting to set my budget though

I just bought me a decent LG HTIB and man what a difference. I mean I was watching movies with just standard tv! And I may not have the best HTIB but I am very happy to have a surround 5.1 to say the least! I am not familiar with all that decoding stuff but my LG sounds very good in my living room and shame on me for watching movie just with the TV!! Never again!!
