Default Universal's Gladiator Blu-ray better?

sorry if this has been brought up before.
i hear that the Paramount Sapphire edition of Gladiator (US) picture quality was not up to the standard people expected it to be.
Any chance that the international version that Universal is releasing will be better?

They are the same in quality because Universal has the original elements to Gladiator so they did the audio & video work not only for themselves but for Paramount/Dreamworks as well.

yeah that sounds about right.
also everyone has a different opinion on how it looks.
i do have the DVD and think even that looks great. So this blu-ray edition should be a good upgrade.

Why not keep all questions in the original thread?

And to answer your question.

It is a Paramount release and distributed by Paramount in the US and its a Paramount release distributed by Universal overseas. They save money that way. Same product, different package.

Do you mean in the Region A forum?

Perhaps because blu-rays exist that have notable differences between regions. Pan's Labyrinth springs to mind...
