When searching for words used in the title of a thread...it brings up results which include both the use of those words in the title of the thread and threads where those words appear within posts in the thread, but not in the title.
Make sense? Example: I was looking for the old Die Hard (1) thread. Went to "Search" and selected "Search titles only". I should have received only the threads which use the words "Die Hard" in the title. Instead, I got every thread that contains posts which mention Die Hard. |

Actually, it disregards words of 3 letters or less. However, there is a wildcard (*) that can be used in place of a letter.
So, if you want to search for Die Hard. Type in "Die* Hard". Also, below the key words to search for, you can sellect "search title only" and it will only look in the titles. Last edited by scweb13; 09-02-2009 at 08:30 PM. |

![]() I get this when I try your wildcard suggestion: ![]() Even though there are threads with the words die and/or hard in the title. -------------------------------------------------- On other forums the use of the search by title function only yields results with those words in the actual title. Here, it includes results for the title and the posts contained within threads. |

There is a trick to everything guys
![]() screenie2.jpg Go to the forum you want to search, in this case >Blu-ray Movies - USA and Region A >clickSearch this Forum >Then click advanced search At the top, where it says keywords, change it to titles only search1.jpg then type the word, small common words dont always work so It may take a try or two but it grabs those keywords Now UP is a killer so you have to add like Disney or pixar and hope its in the title or you get the error message error.jpg Last edited by jw; 09-02-2009 at 10:03 PM. |
