720p vs. 1080p

I have a Toshiba 720p 32". I just wanted to know how better the picture is on a 1080p. I read somewhere that with my screen size you can't even see a difference. Is this true?

Well, I believe it all depends on your distance from the screen. If you are sitting too far away, you won't even notice you are playing a BD and not a DVD.

Just my observation, correct me if I'm wrong, I'm new at this

I had a Toshiba 30" CRT 720p last year and upgraded to a 37" 1080p and I noticed a hugh difference. I don't care about what the say about tv size and all that. I only listen to my own eyes and they see a difference.

Oh, there is a difference my Friend. Specifically, you get 30% more RESOLUTION with 1080P (over 720P). But of course, to realize that benefit, both your Video Source (including the Camera that shot the video) and your Output Device must be capable of displaying this resolution. Just re-recording a lower resolution video signal into(onto) 1080P format isnt going to give you optimal results.

I read, I believe was in S&V magazine you need 40+ inch screen to notice a difference, and distance is also a factor.
