Default Freddy vs. Jason Blu-ray

Why is this movie being announced for Sept 08? I've had it for months. I thought U.S and Canada get it at the same time? BestBuy Canada has it advertised for quite some time.

The Canadian release was distributed by Alliance. The U.S release is distributed by Warner/New Line.

That part where the member of Destiny's Child dies pretty much makes the movie.

I love the look of Freddy's face when he's pointing at her to turn around.

I think that group is so annoying, and I'm glad she died in the movie.

I can't wait to get this on Blu, i've seen the Alliance version on the shelf for months, but i refuse to buy any Alliance bluray

I thought FvJ was one of the better entries in both franchises, it was much better then the f13 remake from earlier this year (which i still liked), it's a shame we never saw a sequel, and probabaly never will see one since WB decided to reboot both franchises

I also thought just a straight up sequel would have been better, i think it fell into development hell after producers decided that another horror icon needed to be thrown in there and they ran into legal problems trying to secure the rights to Ash, Chuckie or Micheal Myers. If they had just done a FvJ2 it would have given us Englund in the Freddy role at least once more (sadly that will never be and he'll probabaly just be diminished to a cameo role as freddy's dad or abusive gym teacher or something "wink, wink, nudge. nudge" like that in the remake)

But i guess in terms of quality FvJ was a better final outing for Englund then we could have gotten, i wonder if Kane hodder is mad he never got to reprise the Jason role... He's stayed pretty quiet about his feelings on not being asked to come back haha

The picture quality on the blu ray is very good. I would give it a 8/10.

$11.49? Yes please! I love the new Warner Brothers and Lionsgate pricing strategies.

Yeah, I have a policy of waiting for domestic releases for domestic films. The only things I will import are foreign films not available in the US or films that the domestic release was defective in some way.

for just under 12 dollars... Hell yes i'm going to buy this.
I personally really enjoyed this film. I think it was the best Friday the 13th since 6. new nightmare is better but hey it's the 3rd best Nightmare on elm street. It was actually a very entertaining film. I went and saw it in theaters happy that even if it was bad at least I got to see the two horror icons on the big screen.
yes it's a shame Kane Hodder didn't do Jason, but Ken Kirzinger was actually a great Jason too. There are a lot of nitpicks i can make about this film but ultimatly it turned out better then i think anyone expected.

From what a read all those years back in Fangoria Kane was pretty loud about not being cast in FvJ. Even though I would have liked to see him as Jason one last time his character from Hatchet was awesome. Go see it.

I bought the Canadian release for several months and PQ/AQ was really good, but there were zero special features. Not even the Ill Nino video. No menu screen either. I sold it on ebay and am buying this day one. Now if they would just get around to Jason X, and Jason Goes to Hell.

i got the bare bones movie alone but i'm fine with it at the moment, older releases like this always have the features passed over from dvd in fuzzy 480p mpeg 2 format.

I was making a joke when i asked if Kane had ever commented on not getting the FvJ gig.... The guy is way to sour over it and he mentions it at every convention or appearance he makes (even on one of the new F13th Blurays). I understand he liked playing the role and it's his claim to fame, but to be honnest I never thought he was the best Jason. Personally I would vote CJ Graham who played the character in part 6 as the Jason I like the best. To me Hodder's only appeal is that he played the character more then anyone else providing some character continuity. However, Part7 is the only one I would consider to be good, Manhatten and jason X can be fun guilty pleasures and Jason goes to Hell is just down right the worst Jason movie ever made

Yeah it would have been nice to see him return for FvJ, but I understand the reasonings for going with the taller Ken Kirzinger (although Kane has some conspiracy that it wasn't hieght but it had to do with the movie shooting in canada and Kirzinger being a canadian citizen ). But overall I like FvJ's slower moving Jason and going up against Freddy, even an extra 2 inches in height really made jason tower on screen, which is what producers wanted.

I enjoy Hodder's performances but I don't think he was either the best or that he deserved the FvJ role simply because he had played the character for so long. Ronny Yu had his vision of the character and the film was somewhat of a jump start for both series, so a new look was to be expected

And yes Hatchet is a pretty cool movie
