Looking for a quiet Blu-ray player - Blu-ray Forum

Hey all,

I'm currently after a stand-alone blu-ray player for the living room. I have a PS3 but it's a chore dragging it around the house. Plus the fan noise drives me nuts when I'm trying to watch a movie!!

I'm wondering if there's any blu-ray players that DON'T have a cooling fan in them? I was about to take the plunge on a Sony BDP360 but I haven't really got a clue as to if it's a good player or not. The price is certinatly good though

So, any recommendations for moi?

I LOVE my Sony BDP-S360! ! It has played everything like a champ and it is quiet enough that I have never noticed if it makes any noise or not.

Hey Enda,

If the 360 is as quiet as the 350 then you won't be upset, and if it's of any interest or use to you, Amazon are selling it for £149.99 at the moment here.

I can vouch for the the 360..I had a 300 and it was quiet as can be, never had a problem

I can also vouch for the OPPO which is just an excellent player in all areas...

Got it for £166 from amazon, i.e. €190 delivered anyway! It's €259.99 in the shops over here

Hopefully have it for next weekend. Thanks again for the advice, can't wait to get watching some HD movies now!!
