Default Direct TV HD/DVR problems

I recently switched to Direct Tv and I have an hd dvr in the main room and for some reason it has a good amount of lag, i will hit guide and 1-2 seconds later or sometimes more the guide will finally pop up, that is just an example this is with every button I push, except volume up and down which controls the TV. My wuestion is. Is there any easy fiz for this? Havent tried anything yet and I had to go to work so no time to call them either, just wanted to get some input from people who have direct tv, thanks

I would 1st try to hit the RED reset button on the right front; open the front door there & press the Red button. It will take a few minutes to reset/upload any New or latest data. Hopefully that will fix the problem. I usually do that when having similar issues & it does the trick. Some people do it once a week, tho' it depends on what Each owner has issues with or how often. Give it a try. If it doesn't work, then I'd call DirecTV.

Do a hard reset like mention above and make sure you are getting updates from Direct TV...being a new customer it might take some time for the box to
to get catch up with the updates.
