Smile Old School Nickelodeon Shows

Does anyone remember the old Nickelodeon shows like Are You Afraid of the Dark, Salute Your Shorts, Pete & Pete, Roco's Modern Life?

I would buy Salute Your Shorts in a heartbeat but for whatever reason it never came out on DVD. Probably my favorite show of my childhood.

I was never a huge fan of Rocko's Modern Life but I loved shows like Doug, Pete & Pete, Are You Afraid of the Dark, Secret World of Alex Mack, Hey Dude, and Clarissa Explains it All. I never understood why Nickelodeon is so bad about releasing their old shows on DVD. It's not like any of the shows have much music so those rights shouldn't be holding them up.

A very young Michelle Trachtenberg was on The Adventures of Pete & Pete, if I recall correctly... and I seem to remember some guy saying "Pipe!" a whole lot.

Agreed. The ones in the first post are like 10 years old.

Man I loved "You Can't Do That on Television."

Two of my other Nick faves were "Today's Special" and "Pinwheel."

I know, but few of them are out in their entirety and Salute Your Shorts isn't out at all. I didn't realize Salute Your Shorts was only on for 2 years. Seems like it was on a lot longer, but that's probably just because I watched it on reruns for years.

Most of the shows are early 90s, so a little older than 10 years old.

Forgot all about You Can't Do That on Television. I remember watching it but I was only around 5 at the time so I don't remember much of the show. Alanis Morissette was one of the stars of it. I remember one of my friends would come over to watch it because his mom wouldn't let him watch it because it was inappropriate.

Les Lye was one of Canadas best underated actors, he was brilliant in YCDTOT, he played so many different roles on the show, Barth was my favorite. He passed away in July. RIP Les Lye.

Yes but compared to Disney Channel I'd say Nickelodeon is doing good. Disney has Lizzie McGuire s1 and... that might actually be it.

We run we jump we swim and play, we row and go on trips...

I used to watch that show all the time as as a kid, along with Hey Dude and Wild & Crazy Kids.

Anyone remember Kids Court? I remember one of the cases was about a kid who had his pb&j sandwich squished.
