United Kingdom Battlestar Galactica uk Blu different packaging!

If you enter the Battlestar Galactica competition at dvdactive.com you are shown a different box packaging than the tin one (or maybe the tin is inside an outer cardboard box! Take a look i've included the pic!

That's quite nice, I wonder if it's exclusive to the competition?

Well the Amazon.co.uk listing for BSG on Blu now says limited edition tin.
So maybe the cardboard box is the "standard" edition and its just not listed anywhere, because they've all got tins for pre-orders?

If this is the "standard" edition, I actually prefer it! Oh well.

So do I. I think I'll wait for the fridge edition to run out and then order this.

Can anyone who has the UK complete series edition please post pics of the set. I'd like to see the thing before I take the plunge.

Ta.

Pretty cool photos, but I want to know more about this booklet if it is messed up and pics of the discs.

I'm hoping to get an undented set.

I got mine yesterday. My tin has had a couple of dents but not to serious dents.

I would of prefered if they had proper cases for each season though.

I received my order of this today. Somehow Amazon sent me two identical packages, same order number and everything, and only charged me for one.

Did the honest thing and let them know, so they're sending another courier to come and pick it up again. Plus they gave me a vocher for my honesty, so I don't feel too bad about letting the second one go.

In the pictures posted above there is a sticker on the box that says "includes 2 extended episodes". Shouldn't there be more? There was "Pegasus" in Season 2, "Unfinished Business" in Season 3 and "A Disquiet Follows my soul", "Islanded in a stream of stars" and "Daybreak" in Season 4.
Could somebody who owns the set tell me if all of the extended editions are included on the set. I know that there are all on the US-Edition.

Can someone who has the UK edition confirm please...

Is season 4 split into Razor, 4.0 discs 1 and 2 and 4.5 discs 1, 2 and 3 like the US release? Is this noted as 4.0 ad 4.5 on the discs and in the booklet?

Or is it simply season 4 discs 1-6?

Thanks

It's split into "Season 4" and "The Final Season" like the original UK boxsets, but the discs are identical to the US Blu-rays.

They couldn't have made this more complicated, could they?

Think I may be glad I waited for the UK version when it comes to this release. I imported the Season One HD-DVD set (from the US) when that was released, only to find out that it had two disc 5's and was missing disc 4 (by the way, if there is anyone out there with two disc 4's and no disc 5, please get in touch!)

On a slightly different note, I don't suppose the UK set has an empty tray for "The Plan" when that's released (on blu/dvd)?

Thoroughly enjoying my set so far! Just finished episode 10 'Hand of God', which is one of my favourites! Goosebump-city with that certain soundtrack song--you guys know which one I mean ;-)

I don't think the packaging is limited. I think the tin is going to be all the UK gets. But I think the ability to buy all the episodes together is limited. I'm sure once these are gone, Universal will release them as separate season sets - no doubt for a (combined) greater cost.

Default No more tins?

Looks to me like they have discontinued the tin and are only going for the new packaging.

I would love to have the tin as all my cardboard sets get easily dented or torn or worn - shelf wear is very common!

Anybody know of a online store that still sells the tin?

Cheers

Maybe you could try eBay or Amazon Marketplace. I know a little while ago, people were still receiving the tin from Amazon but I think they were just receiving the last few batches of stock.
