For all you old school scary movie enthusiasts, it has been brough to my attention that there will be an anniversary addition of the old school classic Monster Squad released later this month (7/24) on DVD. Has anyone hear of any talks about this title possibly coming to blu-ray. This would be a great one.

holy crap...this is one for the ages. my favorite 'horror' (if you can call it that) movie of all time. i wish...but i dont think so...anytime soon at least...

Since theyve only announced it for SD right now, and the release date is so soon, I doubt it. i think they are really cautious about sales for this one. who knows, if it sells well, maybe we'll see a BRD release in a couple months.

Well, Lionsgate has been releasing quite a few ol' titles like 'Dirty Dancing' onto Blu-ray. But one concern I have, will this movie actually look good rather than the poor treatment they gave 'Dirty Dancing', 'American Psycho' and others?

I hope this comes out on bd. I will still buy it on dvd though. I didn't know this was coming out, you guys just made my night. I was always checking for it on dvd then gave up. I think this is probably one of the only movies that hasn't come out on DVD yet.

It was on Monsters HD, I think that is what it is called. I heard it looked pretty good, so there must be an HD transfer out there already. This would be an good seller I think. I never particularly liked it But what I really hated was Fred Dekker's other movie, Night of the Creeps. It just seemed to me a really bad attempt at a horror comedy and tried way to hard to be clever.

This movie brings back so many memories for me. I remember watching this a million times when I was a kid, and thought it was the coolest movie ever. I even looked up to the kids because they were older than me!

I watched this about a year ago on TV and thought it was very campy and stupid, but I will probably still buy it if the price is right just to bring back childhood memories

What tv shows are you talking about?

Monster Squad is a treasure. I love it (framed theatrical poster in the home theater area) and can't wait for this release.
