Online Shooters - Blu-ray Forum

Here is a general question. What do you think is a good online shooter? I use to play Battlefield 2142 on the computer. I bought a PS3 and thought I would like Battlefield Bad Company. So far I do not really enjoy online. Granted that could be because I am used to 2142. What do you think is the Best?

Uncharted 2 is coming out and I find that a good online shooting game.

You could also try Warhawk. Or Unreal Tournament 3

You could also go with Call of Duty 4/World at War

I am loving Socom. Its not the best game and has many many flaws still. It is also programed by a very amateur company but dang I love the team aspect of it.

COD4 is a great one to have. Bad Company had aspects I liked but in the end I always go back to COD4. COD waw has some nice maps, especially the zombie ones. As far as Socom, I like the idea but I dislike the camera angle on it so I never play it.

My personal favourite is Killzone 2 online. It has an excellent leveling up system, slowly introducing the different soldier classes and there abilities. There's a thread in this forum with more details.

Well for me, it would be Red Faction Guerilla. So much fun breaking peoples hbacks with the sledgehammer.

Warhawk FTW!

Of those mentioned I own Warhawk and Killzone 2. Killzone is fun but I still enjoy Warhawk better (likely since I've played it longer)... but I love the different vehicles and modes availible... never a dull moment.

After reading what you like or are used to:

Futuristic FPS we are definitely pretty limited with that.

I'd rule out Warhawk as it's a third person shooter, and hardly futuristic.

Unreal Tournament 3 in Warfare mode is probably the closest, but the only little problem is no one plays it anymore.

Resistance 2, Killzone 2, and COD 4 MW are probably the most rewarding FPS MP games I've ever played. Those are good, but realize they eliminate any vehicle options.

Apocolyptic Warfare: Killzone 2

The absolute best online shooter?

Why Counter Strike of course!

CS:Source isn't that bad either.

As for the ones on the PS3 I'd have to say I enjoyed Call of Duty 4 the most. I really didn't like the controls in Killzone although the modes are good.

When it comes to free online shooters though, there is the granddaddy Quake 3 in Quakelive form:

It's free and it will run on your laptop, what more do you want?

Finally I never played BF 2142 but I played the hell out of 1942. I'd say that is my 2nd favorite after CS (COD 4 3rd)

if you want to stick with battlefield try bad company. no planes but everything else. good controls, solid game play.
