OVERVIEW

The biohazard threat has not ended: Just when it seemed that the menace of Resident Evil had been destroyed, along comes a new terror to send shivers down player's spines. Chris Redfield, returning Resident Evil hero, has followed the path of the evil literally around the globe. After joining a new organization, Chris heads to Africa where the latest bioterrorism threat is literally transforming the people and animals of the city into mindless, maddened creatures. Chris must take on the challenge of discovering the truth behind this evil plot. In Resident Evil 5, Capcom will teach players to fear the daylight as much as they have feared shadow in previous games.

Looks positvely disturbing in a good way. I really enjoyed Resident Evil on the gamecube so hopefully they will incorporate the Sixaxis controller in the game when it's released.

does anyone else get a black hawk down with zombies vibe from that first video? just the music and the scenery reminded me of that city from the movie.

Grab the new full-length trailer off the Japanese store now, I think it'll be on the US store later today as well.

Looks like Resident Evil 4.. with lots MORE, AFRICAN NOT SPANISH, RUNNING, NON-GANADO'S and a strong contrast between the brighter outdoors and darker indoors scenes. Chris appears to have a few more moves than Leon too.

Yeah, i'm pretty sure they announced this morning that the title was pushed back to 2009.

yeah I was just shocked to see one of 360's best trailers at E3 being a game that comes out probably a little under 2 years from now....

did Sony even show this title at E3?...I am assuming they dropped this trailer now to neutralize the hype the 360 is getting off it?...

360 Marketplace got the same trailer today or yesterday, so i think it was more the gamemaker releasing it to both Sony and MS, not Sony specifically releasing it.

but yeah, Sony did have a spot for it in the E3 stuff. apparently from what I hear, the MS guy that decided to make it a big point of their conference really thought that was going to be the 'big surprise' of the show, but no one had told him that the game and some of the footage was already showed 2 years ago.

The first trailer was a pre-vis just like the Killzone 2 trailer, notice how the new trailer doesn't look as good.

Sony showed RE5 during their press conference in a trailer reel which is also downloadable as the 'sizzle' trailer on the PlayStation store.
