yeah...I don't know why, but I could see myself wasting a lot of time playing this game even though I don't know anything about it, looks fun.

Looks like the idea is to get around without hitting anything for longer than the other player(s).

I love racing games but this reminds me of one of the first racing games on Atari. I think I would rather play that game again than this.

Total play time = 30 minutes or less.
Replay value = 0.

This mode looks like it could be addictive.

Some of the most polished HD 2D graphics I've seen, too.

Here's a recording of yesterdays Gamespot On The Spot - the PixelJunk Racers demonstration starts at 25:10. You can only move the playing position cursor thing while the video is playing, not paused as far as I can tell. Might just be a flash in Safari bug I've got.

1080p

Screen Size (under/overscan adjustment) option

Multiplayer (no specifics given)

Each game mode on each track has bronze, silver and gold trophies - score linked to each trophy, beat it to get the trophy.

10 Tracks

32 Game Modes including:

Combo Racers
Use overtake combos to reach first place before the time runs out!

In The Zone
Stay in the zone with careful speed control. Clear at least 1 zone(s)!

Speed Monkey
Reach crazy speeds by building huge overtake combos!

Sudden Death
A (can't see the rest)

Sunday Drivers
Weave through the (can't see the rest)

Fireball Frenzy
(can't see description)

Getting all 320 gold medals could take some time!

Just been reading through IGN's coverage again:

IGN are saying there's 15 game modes (in the 'Tournament' mode), not 32 like Gamespot.

Other main menu modes include Quick Race and Score Attack.

I think somebody may have mentioned this to me before but I personally received a PlayStation Underground PS3 Newsletter yesterday morning and it claims that PixelJunk Racers and Go! Sports Ski are 'coming soon'. Next Thursday Super Puzzle Fighter II Remix will be released on the PS Store.

Yeah, the underground newsletter I think had Everyday Shooter last week or the week before in the coming soon section. I saw PJR and GSS on this weeks' newsletter too. Hopefully these all show up soon!
