Default Star Trek Season 2 - iPhone

What ever happened to the iPhone plans for season 2. The Highlander news today reminded me. You were supposed to be able to control the episodes with your iPhone, and get exclusive content and stuff. Did they just abondon it and not say anything or is it there and nobody used it yet. None of the reviews I have read have said anything about it. I have it but have not wached it yet. Here is what I'm talking about for those of you who think I'm crazy.

I expect that if the feature is there, it's niche enough that most reviewers haven't or can't try it.

I'm sure there is a trekkie with an iPhone who'll pipe up soon though... give it 24-48 hours

I don't have nor want an Iphone. And I own both seasons of Star Trek, so I really cannot help you.

I have an iPhone, and I just downloaded the app. The app is free, and the description for the app indicates that it will work with any network enabled player and any BD that has the feature activated.

Therefore, I expect that while STAR TREK probably does have the feature, it's not likely a listed feature on the discs, more a function that is available.

I do not have the discs to test it with, and TOS is a bit spendy for me when I'm more of a TNG fan.

So - you have 1/2 your answer

The app is called 'MobileBlu', and it's on all of the Season 2 discs. You do need to have your player connected to a local network with WiFi (the player can be plugged in, but you need a WiFi device somewhere on the network for the iPhone to talk to.)

It was mentioned on the press releases, but I haven't seen any of the reviewers mention it myself.

I think it's cool that it works with computers too, so now I have a remote control for PowerDVD when I'm watching Star Trek on my computer.

I proudly owned an Iphone for just little less than a month, got tired of it really fast and gave it away to someone else. Good phone, just bad service, Speaking of star trke, I already own them as well.

OP I think you've just opened up discussion where people want to express what they think of the iPhone.

And I am amazed at how many of these types of people (people that don't have an iPhone for what ever reason) are completely unfamiliar with the concept of 'shut the f**k up'.

I really don't give a damn what you think of the phone. If you don't have one, and can't answer a question being asked about the device, why are you completely incapable of just NOT TALKING...

I'd be willing to bet money that the kind of responses I get to THIS post will be a perfect example of this...

And, for what it's worth, the MobileBlu app is being developed for Black Berrys and Palm devices (like the Pre) as well. The iPhone application just got done first.

Yep! Well said, but there are people like this in every thread, who think that just because something is mentioned they need to give their two cents.

BTW I downloaded the new app earlier and I guess you have to have the ST TOS S2 playing in the blu-player before you connect??, otherwise it won't detect the player?

Yes, currently ST Season 2 is the only disc it works with. The player has to be running a little app that looks for the iPhone.

I wish there was a way to turn off the "Network Connection Failed" message that appears on the main menu its getting annoying.
