Hong Kong Kungfu Cyborg: Metallic Attraction (Blu-ray)

Kungfu Cyborg: Metallic Attraction (Blu-ray)

Release Date Oct 2

Touted as China's first big sci-fi film, Kungfu Cyborg: Metallic Attraction actually squeezes many more genres into its loaded storyline. It's also a martial arts actioner, a buddy cop comedy, a romantic comedy, a melodrama, and a special effects robot fight-off! The latest from director Jeff Lau, who showed he could mesh genres like no other in the Stephen Chow classic A Chinese Odyssey, Kungfu Cyborg is set in a near future where state-of-the-art robots have been developed by the government, but one particular robot decides to challenge the authority of its creators.

I am really interested in this film but this is the first I have seen of it.

Ya, I'm tired of almost every movie, post-Kung Fu Hustle, that's had the words "Kung Fu" in front of it. It's pretty ridiculous now. The only exception to this so far that I've seen is Kung Fu Panda...I enjoyed that one a lot.

I made a thread about the film in the entertainment section of the site back when the first trailer came out for the film. I laughed so hard at how it mocked Transformers. I might check the film out for the LOLs.

Isn't it because of Kung Fu Dunk that Jay Chou got the role of Kato in Green Hornet?

Ya, I guess Kung Fu Dunk is sort of an exception. The only thing that kills it a little is that stupid Kung Fu/Tofu theme song. That song annoyed the crap out of me. They play it anytime anything happens basically.
