Default Star Trek TOS Season 2

Hello all! Does anyone else have problems playing this new set? I have a Sammy BD-P1600, and each of the discs pause playback at random intervals. My 1600 has the latest firmware.

Anyone else have this problem? ....or suggestions??

Same here. PS3 - no problems.

Or as McCoy would hollar out to Kirk:

"I'm a doctor, not a blu-ray troubleshooter!"

First set returned to Amazon. I will see what the replacement set does. Anyone else with a Samsung BDP having problems with this set?

It's not normal, but it's normal for the Samsung. I have a BDP 2550 and the first season does the same thing... Because it use a crapload of branching the Samsung's have problems linking between the files...

I have no freezing problem. However I tried the all-access on the first disc and the speakers in the popup window had no audio. I haven't tried any of the other discs yet.

I bought mine from Amazon also and it played flawlessly. The problem may be due to your Samsung player as some other people have issues playing this set with their samsung player.

If your using HDMI for lossless audio, you wont get audio for the pop-ups. You have to switch the audio options in the player menu. I cant remember exactly why it is, but i remember reading it happens. A few movies have the pop-ups done different. The movie has the pop-up burned in, on a second version of the movie on the same disc. so its not a problem. The Decent, and Wall E come to mind.

Default ST BD TOS 2 won't play at all

My set won't play at all on my Pioneer BDP-05FD player.

That is, the CBS logo comes on, then I get the copyright and disclaimer stuff, and then... Nada. Zip. Zilch. Black screen. The menu won't come up. No matter what button I press, nothing happens. Turning the power off and then back on doesn't help -- I just get the same introductory screens, and then back to black.

Suggestions besides a return to Amazon?

I am beginning to find the "network connection failed" message on the main menu getting on the annoying side.

Maybe you are already aware of this, but just in case...There's a new firmware release Ver. 1.37 that Pioneer posted on 9/25. Maybe that will help.

I've watched episodes from the first 3 discs without any issues (using a PS3 though). If I get time tonight, I'll try it on the Magnavox blu-ray player to see how it goes with it.

Samsung released a firmware update yesterday(9/30) that looks promising. So far, none of the discs have paused. I have tried 2 so far. Keeping my fingers crossed!

No, I don't know anything about firmware -- I've never downloaded firmware, I've never updated my player and I'm nervous about the entire process. I'm really not a computer oriented person even though I spend a good part of my day on a computer.

My Star Trek TOS season one plays just fine -- did they do something different with season two?

Default Star Trek TOS Season 2

I'm using a SONY BDP-S350 and have all firmware updates. I'm having the same trouble with random pausing (generally not during the first part of the disk programming... only the last two-thirds of each disk - beginning with the third disk.) I've pledged to clean my player before continuing. (Would anyone care to recommend a decent cleaner?)
Has anyone attempted a cleaning to resolve this issue? I mean, I've probably logged about 50-60 hours of play on my deck with only a disk cleaning here or there. Blu-ray players collect dust and dirt particles just like any other machine. Let us know if a cleaning works for anyone else. I'll do the same once I get a cleaner and try this. Otherwise, if anyone has a clear solution (other than going out and purchasing a PS3, or returning items to Amazon) let us know, please. Thanks!

Watched all discs of this collection since the 9/30 update from Samsung. Problem with freezing has been fixed on the BD-P1600.

Thanks Samsung!!

I sat downto watch for the first time last night with my new PS3 Slim

Had random pauses several times on Disk 1 in the "Amok Time" episode. Hitting play resumed the episode.

Haven't tried any of the other disks yet.

I wish my only problem was random pauses but I can't get the blasted discs to play, period (apart from the CBS logo and proprietary info).

I tried downloading the firmware update (thank you kinglm for the link) but according to the instructions, there should be three files and all I get is two. And of course Pioneer customer service is closed on the weekend. To be continued.

I had bought a samsung bdp2550 early Jan 2009. It had 3 firmware updates in the week and a half that i owned it. I tried playing Live Free Die Hard on dvd. 75% through the movie, it froze. I returned it and bought a Sony BDP550 and love this unit. Not one glitch yet.

Does anyone know how to get the mobile-blu application for the ipod touch. I can't seem to find it on the app store in my ipod. Looked everywhere and just can't seem to find it. Anyone had the same problem?
