Default 31 Days of Halloween Movies (2009) - Horror Fans Unite!

Part 2!

Thanks to all who posted last year in the thread. We had some great recommendations.

Intro
I'm going through my collection again and hope to hit movies I didn't get to last year. The goal is to watch at least 15 horror movies by Halloween. Last year, my goal was 31, but I didn't quite make it. Some of you did however, congrats!

Movies
Every time you watch one, post the name of the movie, rating and your thoughts on it. This should get everyone into the Halloween spirit and give us movie buffs ideas on movies we may not have seen. Please keep your thoughts generic and if you post spoilers, use the spoiler tags. The movies don't have to be on blu-ray. Most of mine, I still own on DVD.

Looking forward to discussing the movies! Tonight is Army of Darkness, I usually end with this one, but going to switch it up this year.

Sept 29th - 1408 (2007)

I did get an early start, but it was on my DVR and I decided to watch it again last night. Love the movie and think Cusack is great in the role. I have only seen the theatrical version however. Most know the plot and have seen it so I won't go into it.....but if you haven't I highly recommend it. A great psychological supernatural thriller! 4/5

Ratings:
Abysmal
Poor excuse for a horror film but it had a few moments
Average hack n slash fun
Greatness is almost achieved, lots of blood/guts/suspense
The Pinnacle of scary movies, many try seldom deliver...but this one does!

Running tab:

Sept 29 - 1408
Oct 1 - Army of Darkness (Theatrical)
Oct 26 - Hellraiser

Oct 27 - Night Train to Terror
Oct 28 - Memorial Valley Massacre
Oct 28 - Fear No Evil
Oct 29th - Dead Next Door
Oct 29th - Pervert!
Oct 29th - The House of the Devil
Oct 29th - Elvira Mistress of the Dark
Oct 30th - Let Sleeping Corpses Lie
Oct 30th - Cemetery Man
Oct 31st - Dawn of the Dead (78)
Oct 31st - Zombi 2

The movie I want is in my new avatar. It's one I heard about but need to find.

The Human Centipede.

Basically a crazy doctor kidnaps people then surgically connects them mouth to anus and creates his masterpiece.

Well I guess if we counting lastnight I also started already! I watched Mimic for the first time! It was pretty good! I was expecting more. I dont know how to do spoiler tags so if u reading this then dont read ahead and if someone can tell me how to do spoilers I will in the future.........................But anyway I wanted the bugs or whatever they were to cause more ruckus and invade the whole subway killing lots of people instead of them just being down low and only havin the 4 or 5 people below in jeopardy!! I wanted an outbreak of sort I guess! Anyway all in all it wasnt bad and I would rate it 3.5 overall!! Stay tuned for next movie!! Got Em!!

I read about this on Bloody Disgusting a couple of weeks ago. It's actually going to be 2 moives. The Human Centipede (First Sequence) and The Human Centipede (Full Sequence). So, I'm going to assume that the Full Sequence will be more than 3 people.

Anyways, I watched Gremlins last night.

I'll be starting on Friday, and to make it even more difficult, I'm going to make all of them movies I've never seen before.

Great thread!
Everyday is Halloween at our house. It's quite frankly bigger than Christmas for us. We probably watch a horror movie at least once every week.

Depending on how you categorize it I watched Gremlins last night, i consider that more of maybe a horror/comedy with more comedy. Tonight it's either Death Note or The People Under the Stairs (Sadly not on blu yet)

I guess it's a little of both. Kind of like Nightmare before Christmas.

Love this thread. Started off with Hellraiser last night. I have seen it several times, but I figured that would be a good place to start this year. Still holds up very well and the BD looks great. I won't go into the plot because most people that will participate in this thread are probably aware of it, and it is only $10 at Amazon right now.

This movie really surprised me. I was expecting another ho-hum PG-13 teen flick, but it was done extremely well, suspense was held all the way through the movie.

Once a week just during the month or all year round? My wife enjoys Halloween more than Christmas as well. For me, it's an even split.

My month of Horror related movie watching will probably kick off with Zombieland in theaters. We saw Pandorum last week. I thought it was pretty good.
