What exactly is the purpose of streaming to your ps3/360 from a pc? Why not just a direct hookup from the computer to the tv? I am curious what i am missing in regards to this since i seem to see it brought up a lot.

I think then you only have to use one unit, the PS3/360.

Its done wirelesly so that you can access photos and selected music & videos on your television.

Not all televisions have VGA jacks.

Not all computers have HDMI/DVI compatible video cards.

Its far more easier to have a PC in one room and send that information to the XBox 360 or PS3 wirelessly.

I do have my PC directly hooked up to my tv... but I still find it more convenient to stream to another device. I do have my PC remote programmed into my harmony... and I am able to use my iPhone as touch pad mouse... but it is still far easier to find what I want to view/listen to from another device. The main thing I use my PC on my TV for is Hulu.... as that is the only content that I am currently interested in that I can not access from another device.

ok well that makes sense, i have a laptop which i can slide behind my tv, out of sight out of mind, so i didn't understand why you would put a third component in the mix, but that makes sense. appreciate the explanation
