Default Amazon introduces free shipping - Ireland

Quote:
Online retailer Amazon has announced that it is to introduce a free delivery service for customers in Ireland.

The service is eligible for goods on all orders costing £25 (€27) or more.

The move comes just months after the company lifted most of the delivery restricutions it had applied to shoppers in Ireland.

That is odd.. According to the article, the lift on electronics restriction was in April!

Send them an email??

Where abouts in Ireland are you?

South East, Co. Wexford.

I actually knew about this earlier in the year and thought it was going to be introduced in due course. With the article you linked it I assumed that time was now but not so apparently.

I'll email them tomorrow.

What? The deal is better in the UK; free shipping on orders of £5 or more.

Have you tried ordering from Play.com in Euro? They overinflate the final price from £ to € by something like 30% which basically covers for their "free shipping".

Yep.. really unfair, especially as they inflate everything like Kynch said

I did. I simply stated that I was a long serving customer from the Republic Of Ireland and had wished to purchase some electrical items from Amazon.co.uk (I referred them to the item, a Pioneer Blu ray player) but was unable to complete the purchase as during the checkout process I was clearly told that Amazon would not deliver the item in question to my country.

I've just received this email in response....
