Default 007 blu-rays on hold?

are the rest of the movies in the franchise being put on hold because of MGM'S financial problems..or is it a matter of time before..they start releasing the big remaining titles to squeeze in some money?

There are more than likely waiting for a specific event so that a promotion could occur that will help drive sales.

They would probably wait until the next Bond movie is released in the theatres. This would drive sales even more.

If they're waiting for another Bond movie after "Quantum of Solace", I suspect it to be a slightly longer wait.

I doubt they would do that. The next Bond film has to be at least 12 months away. I would think Christmas would be a good time to complete the releases.

It doesn't have to be a Bond movie...

They could piggy back it onto an upcoming Daniel Craig, Judi Dench, Jeffrey Wright movie.

Isn't the next Bond flick not due out til 2011? I don't care what financial problems they're having. To go all of next year without any Bond releases would be a very bad business move.

I wonder if they still plan to release Volume 4 and more. I haven't heard anything about it in months.

Does anyone know if they'll ever release a 2-Disc special edition of Quantum of Solace on blu-ray?

For those of you who don't know, MGM is in serious financial problems. I suspect Blu-Ray is just not a priority for them at this time as they are literally begging for money to keep going.

Home video dollars are always a priority.

But from what I understand it, MGM puts the discs together, which is expensive, then Fox is the ones who ships them out to the stores and collects a big chunk of the profits.

Fox is currently distributing MGM's home video releases. But there's no way MGM would give up its home video dollars completely. They are too important, especially at a time where the studio is struggling.

Great then explain why I see three Blu-Ray titles being released (and one of them is the James Bond 10pack so really only two new releases) between now and the end of the year (and nothing even announced for 2010 yet)?

I mean this is the busiest time of the year for the studios and the best time of the year to get consumers to spend money on your products.

So if it is not financial difficulties, then what is it?
