Default Rotel RSX 1560 receiver

I have been looking at this Rotel for a long time. I currently have a Pioneer Eliet.

The Rotel has virtually every thing that I want in a receiver 4 HDMI inputs (instead of two on my Pioneer.)

Apparently from the Pioneer to the Rotel is quite an upgrade. Is there anyone who owns the Rotel 1560 who can give me there opinion on it.

Can you go into detail about everything you want in a receiver that the Rotel has over your Pioneer Elite (which model do you have?) As for the lack of HDMI inputs on your Pioneer you can pick up an HDMI switch from MonoPrice

Yeah the Rotel is nice. Everything they have is nice I think. I was wondering about the still un-named Pioneer receiver though.

The Rotel receiver looks great. I've always loved Rotel amps, so I'm sure it will sound phenomenal. How much does it cost?

Question though - Does your Pioneer have pre-outs? If so, you might consider spending the $$$ on a Rotel amp instead of an AVR.

Just a thought. Either way would sound great.

Yeah that is why I wanted to know what model it is.
The VSX 91TXH has 7.1 Audio Preouts. Get yourself a Nice 5 or 7 channel amp and an HDMI switch and call it good. The amp really can't be outdated like a receiver can so it will last along time. I think your Pioneer receiver still has plenty of life left in it though.

Take heed: Neither of the 2 Rotel receivers have a room correction software! But nothing beats acoustic treatments and manual calibration IMO anyways. If your empahsis on a receiver is more on musicality and to a lesser extent; raw and unadulterated HT bliss, then this receiver is right for you.

I wish I had a good enough budget to call $2600 fairly affordable. That cost more than all my equipment.

I will use it for both but HT is more where it but would an Amp be better for me.

I have the 94TXH and had been satisfied with it until I then ran across an excellent deal on a Rotel amp (RMB-1085). Now I'm even more satisfied with both music and HT. If you are okay with buying used, there are lots of great deals on amps at audiogon or whatever you have there in Canada (assuming you are in Canada).

I think you a better invested in a nice amp, over many receivers. Your Pioneer should act as a nice preprocessor!

The newer Rotel Amps all seem to be Class D designs including the 15 series receivers. So they are a bit different the the previous Rotel amps though I am not sure how they compare in sound. I do like the look and streamlined size of the new amps.

I have a Rotel RMB1075 amp, I should see if I can get the dealer to loan me one of their new amps so I can compare the difference. Or possible get a high powered 2 channel amp to just drive the fronts and use the 5 channel to expand to a 7.1 system.

To the OP, I think you will love the receiver. I do have the preference to have the room correction choice, hence I have the NAD processor instead of the Rotel but I did previously have a Rotel processor which sounded and looked beautiful.

Considering that this is Rotel's flagship receiver and it's up against other flagship receivers at much higher prices; such as the 7K pioneer elite, 5.5K Denon and 5K Arcam to name a few. I'd say $2600 is FAIRLY AFFORDABLE!!!!

It does look nice. I like my $550 dollar Onkyo 805 better though.

Actually I like anything that is silver. It grabs my attention. Too many black components these days. Now I just need to find a nice 5 channel amp in silver. I like the Emotiva one for the price/performance but it's black.

You can always redo the finish of the emo amp. The again, there are other "FAIRLY AFFORDABLE" amps by Rotel and even Arcam(previous models) that are in silver.
