Default Is it possible to download PSP games on PSN from another region?

I have a North American PSN account and I've heard that's it's possible to set up another account from a different region like Europe.
So let's say I wanted to download Fifa 10 for my PSP using a Euro PSN account:

Would it accept payment in dollars?
Would any error problems occur since my PSP is from North America?

Are there any reasons why I should or should not do this?
Thanks

Yes, it's possible...

No, you'll have to buy European PSN cards from an online shop that will allow purchases from the U.S.

No, there's no real region coding on the PSP, even for downloads (unlike the DSi).

HOWEVER... you can only have one account (region) on a PSP at a time. This means in order to buy and play Fifa 10, you'll have to delete your current account on the PSP (your account will exist on other systems). This will also prevent you from playing any games you downloaded with your NA account on that PSP. You can switch between accounts all you want, but doing so involves deleting your current account and entering your email/password for your other account while you have wifi access.

And since you'll have to buy the PSN cards online anyway, you might consider simply buying the game on UMD, you won't have any hassles that way (that I know of).

Thank you androvsky for the information. It sounds like the best thing to do is just simply buy it on UMD. Kind of a bummer, but what can you do.

I think once you download it on your PS3, you can just transfer it to your normal account. I've downloaded lots of content from the UK and had no problems transfering to my US account, but I have never tried it with a PSP soI could be wrong.

Yeah, the PS3 handles multiple accounts very nicely. I've had multi-region content on both my PSP and PS3, even demos cause the problems I detailed above on the PSP. However, I'd forgotten that there is a way to use the PS3 to make for a quick account change; I think you can just keep a small demo from each region on the PS3, and every time you want to change PSP accounts transfer the demo from the appropriate region to the PSP. I'll have to test that to make sure, but it might be helpful, especially for Go users. Not very portable obviously, but better than nothing.
