Looks like a fun project. Not sure what the dimensions are for your room, but looks like you know where you want everything placed.

Can wait to see more updates.

Post larger pictures and more pics in general. It's hard to tell if you can do 7.1 and what would work best from what you posted.

1.You can make the pictures larger if you click on them

2.I do not understand what you said about posting more pics in general?

How about room dimensions including lengths of wall runs before doors and windows.

Can you sketch something on paper and post it (take a picture of it if you cannot scan it).

Smile The Picture Where You See The door is the entry to the house

The Picture Where You See The door is the entry to the house the front door there is no wall there so I cannot see how I would mount a speaker there,I will try to get more detailed room dimensions later.

I cannot sketch anything my drawing skills are not good that's why I provided the photos, the best I can do is measure the room again

More pics...like showing the corners to giver a better overall view. Although looks like you have a good idea of where you want things.

I think 7.1 is possible in almost any room..... just depends on what you go with as far as satellite speakers, in-walls, in-ceiling, or a combination of those.... In-Ceiling rear channels can work very well for most people.

I'd say yes, you can with some Bipole speakers like the Polk Audio FXi A3's -- I just put up the 4 new ones that came in Friday as my Side & Rear surrounds for my 7.1 (or 7.2, as I have 2 subs) system Check out the pics in my gallery here. By having them on the left & right walls (side surrounds) then the Back wall (rear surrounds) it opens up the listening area, & Totally envelops your HT room the way that theaters do. Good luck & we look forward to more photos as you progress along.

Question surround sound speaker separation

My question on the surround sound speakers is that from the center of my sofa to the side wall I have 6 feet on one side so I can hang a speaker there. However, on the other side from the center of the sofa the only possible place to hang the other surround sound speaker is almost 8 feet away on a wall that is actually part of the hallway because my living room does not have a wall on this side. It is a huge opening where you see the a/c closet in the picture. So, I quess my real question is do the speakers have to be equal distance from the center of the sofa or is my setup OK.

No they don't - If you are able to run an Audyssey type set-up from your AVR it'll determine the Distances from it (with your AVR's Microphone) & to set the proper levels - plus if you have an SPL Meter, you can use that to set the Dbs' as well.

You could always look into mounting the surrounds like Johk did.

Or you could also consider running one or more of your Surround Speakers on Speaker Stands.
That would give you the ability to place the surround speakers in more places,as well as using them in different distances as well.

And they make adjustable height stands or fixed height stands. But either type make sure you get a stand with a solid, heavy bass so there is little chance of them being tipped over in case you have little ones around the house.

Exclamation I have thought and looked at speaker stands too

I have thought and looked at speaker stands too but none work with the Klipsch RS-52's. They don't make stands that are above ear level they are all at ear level.
