Default fighting with myself on a choice here, HELP!!

i have already decided after much research and opinions and debt here that i am buying a new plasma to replace my samsung dlp. the problem is i got caught up with reading about the pioneer panels (500M & 600M). i was all set on my desicion on getting a panny 58" v10 model and i want to stay with the larger size cause my setup can handle it.

but now i have been reading and looking at the 600M and wouldnt mind getting that one due to its awesome reviews. i know the panels are a good price on that value electronics site, but mostly ppl are grabbing the 500M which i know is a 50". its such a great price that would i be cheating myself by getting the panny 58v10? should i just be happy with that? or should i say *&%$ it and get the 600M for a bit over 3K.

so can you see my fight i have raging inside myself, hold on i may turn into the hulk anytime now.. LOL just kidding.
seriously i want to get the best without killing the wallet

so panny for about $2700 which i have a 12%off from BB to make it around $2375 or so. or $3+ for the pioneer...

IMO if you can afford it go with the 600M. Its well worth the price of admission. The V10 will make you just as happy though, so if you are value minded then go for it instead. That is a very big price difference so the savings may be worth the trade off in picture quality since you'd be getting the V10 at such a good price.

Truly though...if money is really not a big deal you may regret not going with the 600M. I'm afraid that is just doesn't get better than this set and even though the V10 is excellent in its own right there is still a very noticeable difference in picture quality.

I know this for sure because I've compared the V10 side by side with a 151FD Elite which the 600M basically is...just without the tuner. The V10 was easily the closest in the room, but it was still a good deal behind the Kuro.

thanks, i heard the panny v10 has 96hz for blu ray movies & flicker, what does the 600m have?? could not find that answer in some of my research, maybe i was looking at it wrong

600m not having a tuner does that mean my dish HD receiver will act as the tuner for the pioneer? i also have an onkyo 606 receiver, so the sound would be through all my speakers, dont need speakers on the tv. also i would have to get a stand as i think it does not come with one, correct? thanks again

i dont see too many places sell the 600m, where is a good place to shop for them??

Thought I read somewhere that the Kuros do 72Hz (24p x3). Have not seen one complaint about flicker.

All of the Kuro's have 72Hz and it operates flawlessly...no flicker. Yes, your dish receiver will work as your tuner. This set does not come with a stand so you will either have to purchase one separately if you can find one since they are getting harder to come by than the set itself. You can always get a wall mount pretty cheap. There are few sellers out there to get these sets from now. You could get it from THIS seller on Ebay since you would be protected by paypal, and you can buy a SquareTrade warranty pretty cheap if you want further peace of mind.

THIS seller seems to be pretty reputable based on the seller rating. HERE's another one. Look into THESE guys too. In either of these cases I would call and question them extensively about their services and policies. Of course you'll have protection when you use your credit card.

Well to me the Panny is normally like 500 less.... the thing is when your spending this much on anything why not go the rest of the way?

I love the new panny plasmas and plan on getting the 42 inch soon but if u can swing the Pioneer go and get it... Months down the road you will regret it if you dont. Even selling the one you end up with to get it after, you wont end up coming out ahead.

I learned this 3 years ago when i couldn't decide between sony lcd and panny plasma which was a $300 dollar difference back then. Fast forward to now I sold the sony lcd last week and am gonna buy a panny plasma around christmas this year.

I'm not sure which one you are trying to get us to sway you towards. None of us know your personal finances... but I say get the very best one that you can afford without having to put any of it on credit, or without totally depleting your savings. If that happens to be the cheaper one... then get that one. It's better than what you have now, and you will be thrilled with it.

thanks, no credit here. i am actually selling my samsung tv and some other things in my house that just sit there collecting dust. its amazing what you find that is worth something to someone else. i have already sold $850 of stuff going towards the new tv. now if i can sell my samsung and a few other things i will have enough to buy atleast the panny. if i want the 600M than i may have to hit the savings for a few bucks. still not sure, but now i am kinda swaying towards just getting the panny. i can get it local without shipping and waiting for it, or possible damaged when it arrived. seems quick and easy, break it in, calibrate it and BAM im in

you always get that little devil on your shoulder wispering in your ear to confuse you sometimes, well i guess he worked on me this week.

Get the 600M, I have one and It was worth the $3K Also I bought the Panny 50"G10 and had buyers remorse because I didn't spend a couple hundred more for the 500M. I was kicking myself in the ass for 2 weeks until I finally said F it and returned the Panny and bought the 500M. Nothing against the Panny(I have one in the basement), but I wouldn't of been able to live with myself if I didn't get one before they're all gone. Get the Kuro

My thoughts exactly. Buyer's remorse is a definite reality that I myself refused this go around. I could have gone with a bigger but lesser set for my money, but picture quality won out so I stayed with the 50".

If anything I regret not stacking up cash at the beginning of the year so I could possibly get the 600M instead, but since I didn't decide that I wanted to upgrade until it was almost summer I didn't have as much time get as much cash together.

I also didn't want to chance saving for much longer with there being a good possibility of Kuro's not even being available by the time I did save the money for the 600M, so I jumped on the 500M when I saw a good deal for it. I could have gotten a 58" Sammy or Panny for around the same price, but I would've kicked myself for not getting a Pioneer.

Do yourself a favor and get the Kuro if you can. No matter what anyone tries to tell you there is nothing touching it and there probably won't be anything that even equals it for another year or two at best IMO.
