United Kingdom Disney Combi Packs

Noticed, whilst working on a master Disney worldwide Blu-ray list that the UK was getting some releases known as Combi Packs which include both the Blu-ray and the DVD copy of the movie.
What's interesting is the upcoming re-releases of Disney Blu-rays in those Combi Packs which are pretty damn cheap. Here's a list for you:

ALREADY AVAILABLE

Question

Yeah, I was just wondering about these, the 'The Nightmare Before Christmas'-one specifically.

So these Combi Packs, the only difference is the added DVD (and perhaps a sleeve) or is there more to them?
I think they want them to resemble the US-versions more.
Obviously with the inclusion of the DVD, but even the artwork of the box.
Which I personally really dislike to be honest, the blu frame etc.
I mean, as if the blu hues and bars and boxes weren't enough.
Oh well...

But it's indeed weird how they're so much cheaper, which is good,
but strange seeing there's more in the product.
Anyway, I think I'll still go with the first release of "Nightmare", with a "two-for-one"-deal or something.
I don't need the DVD and blugly sleeve/case.
That is, if there aren't even more differences to it?...

I think it's good how Disney are finally establishing their release format. It's good in a way as more of the sleeves and artwork match but then again, the DVD disc is a little obsolete when you just want the Blu-Ray Disc...

I agree, if you want to buy the blu-ray then you obviously want the blu-ray because you have a blu-ray player and/or want to own it for the quality in audio and picture.

I'm sure very few people buy blu-ray's and expect to have a DVD with it, I certainly don't expect it.

I think most people don't even WANT it, because of the extra material in the package.
Sure it's just one box, but the extra DVDs kind of clutter it up.
Only, it shouldn't be too bad if its just the Disney-BDs.

But it's probably just Disney being there for the kids or something.
Most kids really don't care if it's a DVD or BD, so parents can just give the kids a DVD to play around with.
It's like a better Digital Copy if you ask me.
They probably realized they might as well make it a regular DVD...
Not that I care for it, it's really not necessary unless there's some reason like kids...
So perhaps they should make it optional, by also releasing just the BD in the box.

Same, you can't argue really for what you're getting for your money...

Does this mean Tinker Bell, High School Musical and Enchanted will get slipcovers? I'll buy that even if its region is locked

I don't want to confirm as I can't possibly know, but given the pictures and the fact that available combi packs did come with slipcovers then, yeah.

Interested in The Nightmare Before Christmas, Cars and Ratatouille, but will hang fire on Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl until the other 2 are announced.

I can't say that I know for sure, as I don't own the combi release, but considering the Pirates of the Caribbean's framing issue has been fixed for a really long time now (almost 2 years), I'd be extremely surprised if any of them turned up.

Are you referring to the slipcovers of these things? :P
I'm sorry, but the frames are UGLY! So I can't see why people would want them so much...

I just noticed (after posting) I already said that I guess. Not to keep spamming it though...
But... seriously, it's just... I saw them and they just look so dumb in design...
I guess that's Disney... "Oeh, look, all prettyyy, BUY ME!" XD

The framing issues being discussed were issues with the original transfer used for the BD where it cropped off the top of peoples head. I don't think he was referring to the 'framing' on the slipcover.

If you can't answer the question, why bother posting an answer at all.
