Thank god it's coming out. I love this film. Hugely underated imho.

This is a must watch movie around Christmas time at my house.

We watch it every year.

Some interesting trivia- the actor David Huddleston who played Santa Claus, was also in the films "Blazing Saddles","McQ","Joe's Apartment" and "The Big Lebowski" and Judy Corwell who plyed Mrs. Claus was Daisy in the Britcom "Keeping Up Appearances".

FIRST half's underrated--It's an underappreciated cuddly big-80's-set-budget gem, until John Lithgow shows up to stink up the whole thing.

(And darn, why aren't WE getting our Blu version over here?...C'mon, it's Anchor Bay!)

Not sure if Anchor Bay still owns the rights to this one now since it's a Studio Canal release, it seems that Lionsgate has the rights now to most of those old Anchor Bay Studio Canal cult classics, including Mad Monster Party who is now only available from Lionsgate.

Watched a whole lot of times as a kid, if I start collecting christmas blu-ray's then I'll be sure to go for this one too.

Just wanted to chime in and say that the commentary by Jeannot Szwarc that was on the old Anchor Bay release is not on this blu ray so if you own that version don't get rid of it.

I'm still going to buy this when it comes out. Also I just checked and Kinowelt in Germany are releasing their own version with the same English audio two days before the UK version comes out. Since Kinowelt seems to be a division of Vivendi and by extension Canal+ the German version will have the same transfer.
