I am planning to assemble a nice stereo set up for my family room. Here is what I am contemplating....
1. Polk LSi9's bookshelf speakers 4ohm-200w 2. Emotiva UPA-2 amp 185w X 2 at 4 ohms 3. Oppo DV-980H disc player(for CD and SACD play back) 4. Onkyo TX-SR806 receiver(used as a pre-out to the UPA-2 and LSi9's, and also to run a bedroom zone 2 direct from the receiver to a set of Polk RTiA1 bookshelfs) Not using the Onkyo 806 for any other purpose other than audio here. It was an extra receiver I had stuck in a closet. 5. And I will also stick an iPod dock in for Apple lossless download playback from my iPod. So what am I missing here or perhaps getting ready to regret?? Is the Emo a good amp to match these speakers? Is the Oppo a decent CD SACD player? (I don't want to spend thousands on this and at least know Oppo is a good brand. I love my BDP-83 Oppo in my HT room) Will the Onk 806 make a good pre-out processor?
