Default Resistance game

I was thinking of getting Resistance game for my brand new PS3. This will be my first game on PS3. Is it worth it?

A lot of people love it . . . I played the demo and didn't care much for it at all. I'd get Ninja Gaiden Sigma.

Get it. Whether you like 1st person shooter games or not, you will be amazed. It's like participating in a sci fi movie.

It's the Nasty love child of Doom 3 and Call of Duty.

there is nothing new for game play on Resistance. You wil get bored of the rediculously standard FPS single player mode that has been since FPS were created. Only super hard core shooter fans will stick around to play Death Match and other online mlutiplayer modes. However even then it's very run of the mill kind of stuff.

graphics is good, though not even close to what PS3 is capable of. Infact this game will look legacy compared to the games comming this fall.

For a launch title, the graphics are incredible and there aren't many (if any) games out for the PS3 that show off the power that the system is capable of.

It's the best game thus far IMO. Ninja Gaiden is sweet, but Resistence is the best introduction to PS3 available right now. It's the only game I've gone back to beat like 4 times.

Great weapons, set-pieces and environments (alien and alien/human mix) made this very much worth playing for me. Sure it looks a lot like a WWII shooter much of the time (and I steer well clear of those games) but the weapons really make all the difference.

I think it's a shame some people will miss out on three of the weapons in single player because they're unlocked for the second play-through.

i'm not a big fan of FPS but since resistance i noticed i started to like them. i am currently playing single player mode right now.. probably 70% through normal mode. i beat the game in co op with a buddy of mine. does anyone know if you get anything extra for beating co op? (we started playing at around 10pm and finishled like 7am, around that time i really wasn't paying attention to what was on the screen. just following my buddy around and letting him revive me. )

Yes, its one of the better PS3 games, but IMO Oblivion is the best PS3 game - I just love the free roaming aspect of it, where I can basically do what I want to do when I want to do it. Its a fantasy world with a medieval theme. And as far as FPS goes I prefer RB6V - Its a lot more tactical than Resistance.

I have finished coop mode and when you finish, it unlocks new weapons to use for when you play the campaign again, whether it be single player or coop again.

Its not as good as what this lot are making out!!! Don't expect the best game ever or you will be dissapointed! But it is the best online game on ps3 at the mo.
But, if you want a great single player game, that will last you friken ages. Get oblivion. Thats a great game. Best game on PS3.

Everyone's different in terms of what they like... me, I can't stand RPG's... pretending I'm a Fairy Prince from Gothwana with my magical singing sword and levitating pixie boots... I've always loved FPS ever since the original Doom. I prefer military stuff and I like the first-person view rather than overhead 3'rd person but that's just me. It's a good thing other people love RPG's though because at least there's more variety in gaming... as there should be and more power to 'em.

Its worth and I enjoyed the single player/co-op story. Oblivion is one of the best games created.

Yeah! Resistance is great and all, but has anyone played "The Darkness??"
I just spent most of my weekend playing this gem. Great story line and cool
features and extras. Plus, you get Mike Patton (Faith No More / Mr. Bungle)
as the voice of "The Darkness." Pretty wicked stuff and totally entertaining!
I give it an 8.5 or 9 out of a possible 10. Check it out.

I'll be getting The Darkness finally this Friday! I decided to wait for the Euro release rather than importing as I was occupied with plenty of other stuff already.
