Default Dead Snow

I saw this a few months ago and loved it. Hey whats better then Nazi Zombies?? I just love Nordic horror. I mean, Dead In 3 Days, Cold Prey, Sl8 Nite, all classics. I hear Canada is getting a release on 10/20. Does anyone know anything about it? I wanted a Euro steelbook but I hear they are region locked.

Should I hold out for a US release?

Hey any movie where a guy gets his manhood ripped off by a pair of hands is awesome in my book. (See "Pieces" circa 1983?)

I've heard good things about this. Off to bump it to the top of my queue.

Maybe not. Netflix doesn't have it available

I like watching the tv show "At the Movies" as I tend to agree with the critics reviewing films. They slammed this one pretty hard, maybe just a rental for me

Did you like that old man who became the first victim in that tent in the movie redtornado? One of the best in norwegian cinema

Thought film was ok as a timewaster.A blend between 'evil dead' and 'braindead'.

Think those who haven't seen it rent it first to see if it's up your alley.

I thought the trailer for it looked interesting when i saw it. I will probably at least rent it when it's released.

Dead in Three Days was good? I had heard to not bother with it...

I checked out a flick with Nazi Zombies in it over the weekend, a DVD called Outpost (it wasn't too shabby).

I thought they added that in for an extra kill. I mean he gives the whole "evil comes out at night around here, be careful you meddling kids!" speech and then goes off and pitches a tent in the middle of zombie hunting ground.

Outpost is good, I hear theyre planning sequel.

Dead in 3 Days was kind of a I Know What You Did Last Summer clone, but I liked it. Euro babes are hot. DI3D part 2 is way different. More of a thriller then a slasher.

My Review

Director: Tommy Wirkola

Main Stars: Vegard Hoel, Stig Frode Henriksen, Jenny Skalvan, Charlotte Frogner

Rating: 4 out of 5

Let's see, I love Zombies and I love films with Nazis in them. Put the two together and I'm doing cartwheels - set it in the snowy mountains of Norway and I'm in horror geek heaven! I don't know what it is, but all the best films seem to be foreign ones lately. This one hails from Norway and as such is subtitled. A bunch of med students snowmobile to a cabin in the mountains for a weekend of fun. Not long after they arrive a mysterious old man invites himself in for a break from the cold and begins to tell them of the history of the place where a bunch of German soldiers were garrisoned there during WWII. He warns them to be careful not to stir up the evil that dwells there. Of course they think he's a crazy old fool - until one by one they start disappearing. Besides the Nazi Zombie twist, the snowy backdrop that it's set in also adds to the film's unique feel and is visually beautiful. Let's face it, blood splattered snow makes for great contrast. There's also a terrific scene of a woman slowly returning to consciousness only to find her intestines being pulled out by said Zombies. Seriously great stuff making Dead Snow one of my top 5 favourite Zombie flicks of all time!
