With a special thanks to BluLobsta for pointing this out in one of the other 'Alien' threads, AMC-HD will be showing the ALIEN series movies tonight, Saturday and Sunday! I'm assuming that they will be in a true HD broadcast.

This your chance CZAR to use your TIVO and see them before they come out on Blu.

Awesome! I recently tried to watch my Aliens DVD for the first time in years and shut it off because it looked so piss poor. Blu-ray has spoiled me indeed.

My only prob would be I wouldnt want to watch them with commercials because it edits everything. This channel does have commercials right? if not then maybe I will. let me know. Got Em!!

Most AMC films look like they came from a bad VHS (even in HD) throw in a ridiculous amount of commercials and I pass. The only good thing to come out of AMC is "Mad Men".

yea see that would be my only prob. Now if they were showing them all on say.....cinemax, showtime, hbo in HD then we all good! i dont want my first experience of Alien to be commercial edited!! Good lookin out though duffy! Got Em!!

Yeah. I have a bad feeling how these are going to look.

Stargate (1994) is on now and the picture is really swirling around pretty bad. Kind of like a Vincent van Gogh painting come to life.

Actually, I have been just a little lazy on updating them. I just started buying them in July and I have 25 Blus now. I will be updating my list this weekend...Maybe.

If it's a good movie then it'll still remain good on TV. I saw some great movies on ABC for the first time, Minority Report, The Green Mile, Road to Perdition and Forrest Gump. Fantastic movies indeed.

I am watching Alien right now and it looks fantastic for being on HD cable. I am going to DVR it and watch it later and fwd the commercials.

Oh my, you beat me to it, but I'm talking Aliens. I threw in my Quad Special Edition Disk and jumped back and forth. NO CONTEST!

Aliens was the real test here, since DVD never did it any true justice. After seeing it in AMC's particular brand of HD, i have no doubt that all of these movies will make phenomenal blus. Can't wait!

+1....I just caught a few minutes of the embarassment that is Alien 3 (sorry those that like it, but opening the film the way it did immediately made me hate the film) and thought to myself how badly I want the first two on blu and how badly I don't want the latter two. I guarantee they're going to release all four in a box set first, then they're going to release each individually. They'll do this for the obvious reason of making ppl double dip and knowing that few ppl would actually buy the latter two individually. The first two are without a doubt in my top 5 wants.
