Default Scream for preorder at BB and Amazon?

Does anyone know anything about this release? It says Nov 10th.

This is a surprise. There has been no hint whatsoever about an upcoming release. With Scream 4 being developed right now, I'd be surprised they would release the first one in only a few weeks with no announcement. The US has yet to receive a proper widescreen release. DirecTV is airing the HD version on the 31st, which I will record.

Amazon's listing says this is an import with the studio being "Icon".

This must be the German import. But apparently, this was released in 2 different versions - the theatrical and the uncut.

Amazon has this listed as rated X - could that mean that this is the uncut version? I certainly hope so!

I'm tempted to preorder, but I don't want it if it's the theatrical cut. Hopefully more info will come soon.

There's really no such thing as anamorphic widescreen on Blu-ray. If it's getting released, the resolution will be 1080p no matter what (well, there are those weird releases that get jacked up every once in a while).

I've never seen the uncut version, but you can tell from the music where the scene is supposed to be extended. I'm surprised the US hasn't seen this cut yet (unless I missed it). And I have to add, Marco Beltrami's score for this film is amazing. It's a shame only 11 minutes of the 70 minutes of score got released.

It was never released on DVD in the U.S., but it was released on laserdisc. It's not much extra, but there's a few seconds here and there of extra gore in the kill scenes.

I'll definitely get it if it's a good transfer. Excellent movie.

I doubt this is the German import. Isn't that only available in a set of all three movies? Also, Best Buy doesn't carry imports as far as I know. I wonder if this is going to be another exclusive for Best Buy and Amazon.

I've seen imports for pre-order on BB's website before.

And it's region locked to B.

I haven't seen any info of a release anywhere but the German release.

Could be an error on the site... I doubt it's a import because when they appear on Amazon they're usually $50...

It's definitely an import. Icon release from Australia.

Of course, you should know this already since you posted in the thread for the import...

Well the Aussie dollar is worth a lot less than the Euro (I'm assuming you're referring to European/UK releases at the $50 import price), and it's currently less than the US dollar. That could account for the ~$25 import price point on the US site.

Oh, I forgot about that release. Most of the talk has been about the German boxset.
