Damages Season 2, Only on DVD?!?! - Blu-ray Forum

Amazon.com has listed, AT LAST, Damages Season 2 on DVD on Januray 12. But the problem is, the Blu-ray has not been listed. Does anybody know if they will release it on Blu-ray? If they don't, I'm going to be soooooooo pissed.
A little question off topic: does anybody know when True Blood season 2 is going to be released? Thanks.

Oh, I'm pissed too, but hardly surprised. Every show that airs on FX and that's gotten a Blu-ray release has been abandoned so far. That goes for "Rescue Me" as well as "Nip/Tuck", and I'm afraid the writing was already on the wall for "Damages". It's a Sony-show, and they are REALLY good at abandoning BD-releases for TV shows.

There won't be any release abroad either; someone on another forum asked about this in the UK, and the official statement was along the lines of "Season 2 is not coming to Blu-ray. Ever. At all".

So be pissed, I am too. Tell Sony ... I know I have. And on another note, I'm curious to see if "Sons of Anarchy" will be the first FX show to get a second season out on Blu-ray....there is at least a little hope for that, with the show being published by Fox instead of Sony.

Really?!?! No Blu-ray?!?! I guess I won't be buying it, just like I haven't bought Grey's Anatomy S5 -- even though I've seen neither during it's TV airing.

Any news on this yet?

There was an announcement for August 31, 2009 but that date has obviously slipped. I for one would love to see season 2 on blu.

Hmmm, if it's NEVER going to happen, then say in 10 years blu-ray has taken over the world, nobody watches or buys DVDs anymore (kinda like where VHS is now), shops are stocked full with blu-rays for all kinds of series (kinda like DVD now), but only for Damages season 2, only a DVD is available. Which would then be about the only DVD the shops would sell at all...

Hmmmm... that would be... awkward...

Heard the show was really good and was gonna buy Season one on Blu but just noticed what everyone here already knows, there are no blus for Season 2 and probably not for 3 either.

Kind of a waste. Usually they can build on a show selling more as it catches on. Damages seems to be that kind of show. Word of mouth is very strong.

I am still hoping for a Season 2 BD release maybe when they officially announce the 3rd season. This show has caught on so much it seems like it would be win win. Who knows.

I just bought the first season over the weekend and can't imagine watching this on DVD. The grainy flash sequences ... well I can't imagine what those look like in standard def.

It's watchable in SD but a high def release would be preferable. Maybe when season 5 finishes on DirecTV Sony will release a box of the entire series on DVD/BD. That'll be in several years so BD market share will likely have grown by then and perhaps it'll be a justifiable release...
