Default I think Premonition is VHS like

Premonition has perhaps the worst pq of any bd I have seen. Was like watching Porky's on VHS when I was a wee younger.

Pretty bold comparison... especially since Blu-ray has roughly 15x the pixel resolution of VHS.

I've ordered this one and haven't received it yet. So the jury is still out.

I don't care if this movie has the single great PQ of any movie in existence, it's on my top 5 worst movies ever list.

If I wasn't drunk enough to find this movie funny, I would've either just left the theater or made a scene with my friends.

What a piece of crap.

I just watched this movie in DVD(Someone else bought it, so I figured it a good way to see if it was worth getting in Blu or not )

Anyways, the movie is actually decent. If it's in your worst 5 movies list, then I'm assuming you are drunk everytime you watch a movie.

This movie was actually halfway decent. I'll probably be picking the blu up when I get payed, Friday.

It is the type of movie that you watch because you're curious how it is gonna end. Which I was actually kinda surprised by the ending. Also you can't beat any movie that has Peter Stormare (AKA The Russian guy in Armageddon) in it. He's fun to watch no matter what.

I think the movie was worth getting, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who only likes fast chopped-up quick-moving A.D.D. based film-style.

I have to agree with you 100%. Just watched it last night (regular DVD) and the movie is really bad. If I were given a brand new "Premonition " blu-ray I would throw it in the garbage! No, wait. I could probably get a couple of bucks for it on ebay

Fortunately I saw a trailer for this on another disc that made it clear that the PQ was going to be poor. Since I detest Sandra Bullock, it was an easy choice to avoid this.

According to High-Def Digest, the picture quality of this disc is the best part:

I haven't seen it, but have it high in my Blockbuster rental queue. I might rethink that and move it down the list.

HDD can be very strange in its PQ judgments. They thought Devil Wears Prada looked great, for example.

Well, I just finished watching Premonition earlier this morning, and I have to say, for a new film, I was not impressed with the PQ, the SQ was great, but not so much on the PQ. I found certain scenes were just lacking in that pristine crisp look typically associated with BD's, And there were several overly dark scenes, and imho daylight, outdoor scenes look the best on Blu.

The lighter scenes looked ok, but not the best I have scene. I think maybe the movie was intentionally filmed that way, and it is no fault of the transfer to BD.

As for it being as bad as VHS, no way. Nothing is that bad anymore.

The movie wasn't half bad if you enjoy suspense thrillers. It's certainly one of Sandra Bullocks best acting efforts to date.

Whatever you do, don't miss the out-takes section, the last one is a real hoot.

As far as PQ goes, it's not on my list of BD's to show to a friend for that "stunning" effect but nothing really glared out at me as being that bad.

It wasn't that bad, but the picture quality was lacking in the theater. The Blu version looks no different.

Can anyone tell if the PQ isn't sharp due to director's intent? Maybe the movie wasn't designed to pop like other films due to it being a suspense type thriller.
