Tre tres confused. The only bone that WB has thrown to Blu-ray is the earlier release date of Blood Diamond. We still don't have Willy Wonka, V, Perfect Storm, and the list goes on...

True but we're getting 300 at the end of the month day and date with the HD-DVD and DVD. They've also said they'll be releasing Batman Begins before the end of the year. Warner is waiting for the BD-J spec to be finalized I think before they start releasing catalogue titles.

Warner has released several titles to HD-DVD ONLY. This is largely due to the BD-J 1.1 profile not being complete. Its been argued about before on this forum that no one cares about PiP etc. THIS is why I care, THIS is why HD-DVD has The Matrix and BD doesn't.

But when the PIP thingy is done, all Warners movies will be released on Blu-Ray right?

and Warner is being stupid, making a big difference between HD-DVD and Blu-ray movies, like the last samurai on HD-DVD, its got Dolby True HD track, while BD´s got stupid 5.1

Warner was originally HD DVD exclusive, but they saw the Blu light and have slowly started releasing on Blu-ray. Same for Paramount. Only Universal is left to go Blu.

In a BD specific encode, not a hamstrung HD DVD port over.

WB is not truly neutral.

Am I the only one that cares more about the secondary audio track than PiP? I don't really care what the actors looked like in front of a green screen, but the commentaries were always interesting to me on DVD.

Anyways, my Amazon.com PS3 should be arriving today, bring on the Blu.

No, HD DVD has Matrix and BR doesn't because Toshiba paid them a f***load of money to ship Matrix to try to defuse the Pirates doubleteaming, instead of shipping both versions for Christmas like they originally planned. Now Matrix is a 2008 BR title.

There's a reason why something that would have been announced at CES materialized about a month later after Disney laid down the smack.

Toshiba does not have to pay Warner to do anything, they have been close business allies that worked together to bring us DVD. HD DVD wouldn't have seen the light of day in the DVD forum had it not been for the power of Warner within the forum. I don't think there is any real conspiracy here, I just think it is a back scratch exchange from two long time business partners.

The reality is, we don't really know the reason.
