However, there is no information regarding a Blu-ray release of the first movie, 'Smokin' Aces', which Universal released on HD DVD in 2007.

Special features include:
Feature commentary with executive producer Joe Carnahan and director P.J. Pesce
Behind the Scenes with Joe Carnahan: Executive producer Joe Carnahan, producer Mike Elliott, writers Olatunde Osunsanmi and Olumide Odebunmi and director P.J. Pesce talk about the process of jumping back into the world of Smokin' Aces.
Confessions of an Assassin: director P.J. Pesce and the stars of the movie take us through production, from the ground, amidst the mayhem, blood, guts, bullets and all.
Ready, Aim, Fire: the Weapons of Smokin' Aces 2: meet the armorer who equipped the gang with the over 20 guns in the film.
Cue the Clown: A behind-the-scenes look at what it took to produce one of the most explosive stunts in the movie.
The Bunker Mentality: Designing the Set: production designer Chris August, along with director P.J. Pesce and executive producer Joe Carnahan, discuss the art déco look and feel of the sets as well as the little details that gave them the freedom them to shoot quickly and in every direction.

Anyone looking forward to this one? I'm interested since I really liked the first film. Given this one is a "straight to video" film, it's got a decent cast. Tom Berenger, Vinnie Jones, Ernie Hudson, and Michael Parks. I wish there was an announcement or even a two pack Blu-ray with the first film.

Well, the UK Version of SA1 is getting releases on January 4. Maybe the US one will come around that time.

DVD EMPIRE has listed the original SMOKIN' ACES for pre-sale. Release date is also January 19. For all those wondering.

Here ya go. I believe the BB flyer has it as $30 the week it comes out. I've never seen the original, but I've heard enough good things that I'll be blind buying the 2pack.

I wonder if its both movies packed in a cardboard slipbox or what. Will probably get if it stays 30. Otherwise I will just buy #1.

it wasn't that bad, it had the feel of the first film and I liked most of the new assassin characters. I'll probably buy the two pack because paying a lot for the blu may not be worth it, but still it was a fun DTV movie.

it was atrocious did you see the same film as i did? everything about it was bad and by same feel you mean the director tried his hardest to mimic the first film and failed horribly sure.. and they over stylized the action scenes and don't get me started on the whole
[Show spoiler] shooting the clowns out of the canon and ridiculously fake explosions part
i love me some over the top ridiculous movies (crank, crank 2, smokin aces) but this film was just baaaad

I'll give you that for sure, that was beyond silly, and all the explosions looked really fake. It was very obvious it was stock explosion footage copied and pasted into the scene. I guess I just didn't expect much given it's DTV nature. I'd probably watch it again on a slow boring night.

I know its DTV but i expected atleast a good story given joe carnahan was involved with it and it was just yuck, they should of spent the money on something else instead of making this film

I got the first one on HD and really like it. The comments on this one aren't very promising though. I will rent.

No it wasn't, it was worse.
It doesn't even ressemble a proper movie, more some crap TV pilot.
