Default Blu-rays Your Budget And Which Ones To Buy

I'm in a very limited financial situation and love Blu Ray movies. Two approaches I have taken to adding to my large movie collection and adding more Blu Ray movies is this

1- I try to only buy the movies that I truly love to watch over and over.
Any ones that get viewed a few times a year, and are all time favorites.

Also next is get the ones that REALLY need it.

2- Some movies just don't need to be Blu Ray, for me. Even though we know everything looks better on Blu Ray some movies just don't need to be Blu Ray for me. I do A / B's with the regular DVD's side by side with Blu Ray's all the time. And I can honestly sit there and say, nope that does not improve this film so greatly that I'm gonna drop $30.00 bucks on a film I already own. And it's not one I watch alot either.

In other words the Blu Ray "Iron Man" movie does not level the Regular DVD
of "Iron Man" enough for me to care. There's plenty of these out as well.

Again this is for people with limited money but here is a list of a few movies that looked TERRIBLE on DVD for years, and the Blu Ray was a MUST if you like these movies.

I thought if we have discovered any films that fit this we could share that info. Here is a small list of films that looked TERRIBLE on DVD for years. I mean brutal like we were watching VHS The Blu Ray's on these blew the doors off of what was available on DVD. I mean a HUGE difference. Not just
"oh yeah that's better"

The Robe - My God, Incredible the best I have seen yet in difference.
The Road Warrior - Didn't even know Mel was in this till now... LOL
Unforgiven -
The Lost Boys -
Twister -
Halloween (the original)
The Thing
Silverado
Gangs Of New York

Of course some others looked better for example "The Searchers" is stunning
on Blu Ray but so was the last regualar remastered DVD I had of it.
The difference wasn't huge but i bought it because it's a favorite that gets watched alot. And it was on sale for $12.99
The "Warriors" looks awesome on Blu Ray but so does the regular DVD very nice transfer to begin with.

So what have you found that was horrible before the Blu Ray?
